One single movie not matched?

I been adding more DVD’s to my collection so I can finally store my DVDs in storage.

Anyways I can’t get 'War of the Worlds (2005).mp4 to be found by Plex.

I use that Filebot app to check movies and its fine. I saw that initially file properties under details it had a Title ‘War of the Worlds’ so i went ahead and removed it. Still nothing can’t get movie info or poster.

My agent for Movies/Plex is set to Local Media followed by Plex Movie
My agent for Movies/The Movie Database/ is set to Local Media, followed by The Movie Database.

I removed the movie out of the location stored. Did a media search and was removed. Re-added again and still nothing.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Move Local Media Assets downwards in both places.

Perform the Plex Dance

Plex Dance going to save that link. But unfortunately didn’t help.

I guess going to need logs or something. Will look into this later.

Plex logs attached. Can someone see why War of the Worlds (2005) not being fetching the information. It seems like it finds it from what the log says but then doesn’t.

Did you reorder the agents like I wrote above?

May I see the Plex XML info of the movie in its current state?

Do you have several Plex servers in your network? Did you move Plex data recently?

Attached is the xml file.
I moved the agents for Local as suggested. Repeated the Plex Dance after.
There is another Plex server on the network. That Plex server is just a test on a more powerful PC that might replace current one. It uses my primary plex machine to access the files on a share folder. That other machine did pick up the movie properly.

So, the file was matched correctly, but then the metadata weren’t assigned correctly.

Also, this is a weird mp4 file. Normally an mp4 cannot contain vobsub subtitles. I wonder if this fact has anything to do with the issue.

I add subtitles to all my .mp4 files and they all seem to okay.

My issue has now expanded to about 10 DVD movies now.
Some movies get information about the movie but no artwork. Some movies get nothing.

I have updated to latest Plex Server version 1.11.3.4803 with same issues.

Is your server connected wirelessly to your router?

Do you have a wonky internet connection?

Are you using some sort of VPN or ‘anonymizer’ service?

Server connected with ethernet, no wireless. This is a dedicated TS140 ThinkServer running Windows 10.
Internet is good as far as I know. Its 75mbps up and down package. System hooked directly to primary home router.
No VPN. I even turn off my Avira Antivirus just in case on that machine.

Is there a way to go into the plex file database and manually remove the metadata folder for those movies?
I was looking at the xml info and comparing files in C:\Users\myname\appdata\local\plex media server\media or metadata folder. Can’t figure out how to match what is what. Was willing to dry deleting such folders manually.

By the way thanks for the help.

This one has caused issues in the past. I’d go as far as uninstalling it, just to be sure.

The Plex Dance should take care of that

Have you ever started Plex ‘As Administrator’ (with right-click in its icon or using the ‘compatibility options’)?
You must never do that, or parts of your plex data folder may become write protected.

This is just a limitation of HandBrake.

Not running Plex as admin or compatibility options.

I uninstalled Avira, rebooted a few times etc. moved some movies out and did plex dance with also optimized option. No change a few movies just won’t get updated.

As far making handbrake files with vodsub included. I been doing this for past two years without any issues.

I just added about 50 kid tv show files. All .mp4 and all checked with filebot, no vobsub on them. About half are okay and another half no show info or name. Sometime is wrong with this system or Plex. I might just redo the whole thing.

I mention this before in the thread. There is a more powerful system in the network. I also installed Plex on that for some testing of streaming blu-ray. It has no problems finding all the metadata.

Well, how you do that? I got errors trying that. Lucky…

I don’t think i’m doing anything special. I just go to Subtitles tab on HandBrake and click Add Track and select usually English VobSub. I leave force, burn, default unchecked.

I did the ultimate thing. I Uninstalled Plex and then deleted all the leftover folders in Appdata. Reloaded and re-added libraries.
All working now.

So who knows what the issue was.
