Plex DVR Guide/EPG not Updating

I can delete the tuner and re-add at lunch. I’ll restart PMS and go from there and upload logs as well. Can you tell me what setup parameters would entail?

As for the issue where the guide wasn’t updating, it was related to this issue. It was updating, but just handful of channels as the rest disappeared from the lineup.

The setup info would be what you select/enter when creating the DVR
Country / Post code - Zip Code / Guide source selected and to have debug logging enabled whilst going through this and screenshots of the tuner channels seen during setup

From the logs i can see then what requests would need to be made to capture the responses

Got it. Thank you. I’ll try to do this in about an hour.

@sa2000

I deleted the tuner, rebooted PMS, and added the tuner again. I have a HDHomeRun Prime, so I had things set to cable. Country code is US, zip code is 73507 and the guide source was “Fidelity Cablevision - Digital.”

You can see it’s only enabling 24 channels, as that’s all that’s available in the lineup anymore.

Here are the logs:

Yes - i have replicated the issue and referred it to our development team to raise with Gracenote

I just updated to the new PMS and had to refresh it again after it refreshed upon the new server update to get it to update the EPG. After that no problem, HOWEVER, my question is for the Plex pass β users is the new guide service already in place if we update to the new server? The reason I ask is that all my scheduled recordings had to be re-added, as the previous scheduled recordings, prior to the server update, apparently did not carry over and so I had to add them again. I also assume that all the old scheduled recordings that would have recorded shows automatically with new airings next fall will also have to be re-added when they show up in the guide?

Hey @Noah0504, I’m working with TiVo now to resolve lineup discrepancies and I think I caught a mistake in your list, so just to verify Fox Business News is channel 85 not 84, correct?

@cire12, you are correct! It is channel 85, not 84. Sorry about that. I’ll edit my previous post so there is no confusion as well.

New OTA guide data is woefully inadequate. It simply provides a generic quip bout the program, no longer the actual description of the episode. EPG implies episode and other enhanced details in the guide, not just a list of shows.

@Smokindog is that still the case even after a full guide refresh?

@cire12, I’m noticing the same thing. Also, too many episodes are just listed as YEAR - E1 – even if the episode name is shown.

YES, even after a full refresh.

Yes, same issue here (Spain). Moreover, some channels are empty of events all days. Reported with the form.

@cire12 The UK one isn’t much better, especially here in CF39, Wenvoe has Irish TV data on channels that we watch here in Wales!
I’m being asked for proof, bit for goodness sake, take a look at the line ups, for rte4 and rte channels showing up around channel 50 and upwards.
I know I complained about the Gracenote one, bit at least that had channels from Freeview Wales in…

Dave

Haven’t updated to the latest Beta version, but have no guide data past 9/10PM tonight on main UK Channels. Not sure why as surely the guide should’ve refreshed by now and gotten that data. Going to try a Manual Refresh.

In the past 8 days of Guide Refreshes, I’ve only gained from Saturday 22nd @ 6AM → Saturday 22nd @ 9/10PM worth of guide data?!

Good luck with the update, and best of luck finding a Freeview lineup that is great for your area, just ah heads up, geography isn’t Plex’s best thing, Ireland channels and border channels are showing up in what I’ve been told are scoring algorithms, so I doubt we’ll ever see a perfect lineup as they’re using algorithms to determine which channel is for for the lineup… Damn that Zukerberg!!! Keep your dirty algorithms to Facebook…

Dave

3 hrs later, only on 2% refreshed. Oh Gracenote :joy:
