I specifically asked about the guide content issue within the guide in another thread (Program synopsis versus EPISODE as it should be). Specifically wanted to know what the intended outcome was and even though I got a response that it was being investigated, I got NO ANSWER to the intended result. This is all unfolding just like the December Disaster where we were promised that PLEX heard us and would change their ways!

@cire12, is this something that is still being worked on? I seem to know be able to map most of the channels that were missing before, but now it seems every HD channel is MIA. Should I try updating the guide later, or fill out the form for EPG issues? After the others appeared, I’m not missing about 100 channels from the lineup.

@Noah0504 You’re lucky it’s only the info on some shows, at present, the UK have to put up with cryptic names for channels, channels still missing an EPG system that puts Ireland and Scotland, and a algorithm that only Mark Zuckerberg world use to choose which channel is best for the lineup… Why this approach when not even the Freeview TV company use this method to put channels in their EPG…
Please can someone with more info fill us in about the UK EPG so I can pass the info on to my family members would I’ve taken TV away from at the moment as it’s that bad!

Dave

@mw0dcmplex, I’m not that lucky! After having missing channels added, I’m now missing almost 100 more!

see my last posts to you here Freeview EPG/Missing Channel Data - #55 by sa2000 and Freeview EPG/Missing Channel Data - #56 by sa2000

I just updated and it looks like I have to re-add all of my shows as the recording schedule show nothing. The shows don’t match up to the previous ones.

A New beta is out

Release Notice for 1.16.1.1273 i has now been added - see Plex Media Server

  • (DVR) Don’t default to Episode 1. (#10207)
  • (DVR) Users in Canada can now set up a new DVR, using a space in the postal code. (#10204)
  • (DVR) Users in Ireland can now set up a new DVR.
  • (DVR) Additionally show channel title in DVR setup where only an internal channel identifier is present.

You do need a full guide refresh to correct the errors for E1

That’s really annoying! There’s got to be a way for Plex to transition existing Scheduled Recordings across. :pensive: I’ve got loads of shows under Recording Priority, so will have to reschedule them all again.

This has turned into a complete shambles for me. All was working perfectly until recently. The rot seems to have set in over the past week or so, probably since things to do with the change of EPG provider began.

All of the new EPG sources for my UK postcode seem to offer either the wrong lineup of channels for the transmitter that my signal comes from or the guide data for some major channels is incomplete even for a couple of days hence. All of my series bookings with nothing scheduled. Total loss of confidence. Sorry! But this has wasted too much of my time with fiddling about, got more interesting & pressing things to be getting on with.

So I’ve abandoned Plex DVR for the time being. Have set up an alternative DVR facility using a 2 month free trial of a competitor’s DVR until all this mess gets resolved.

i am sorry about the hiccups as we transition to the new EPG provider.

What major channels ?

I am aware of E4 still being wrong - plus a few others but i would not refer to them as major channels eg CBS Justice, Movies 4 Men +1 , Now 80s, Now 90s

Expecting the UK lineups to be corrected over the next couple of days

Lots and lots of shows in OTA San Diego, CA lineup where the shows are listed “1/1/19” as the episode information. If the DVR is setup to record the series, it will record the first instance and then stop recording everything else after that. DVR is treating the first record of “1/1/19” as the first episode and then after that is recorded, all other episode after that becomes duplicate of the the 1st one and DVR refuses to record anymore. Once the 1st “1/1/19” episode is watched and deleted, DVR will then happily schedule more to record later in the week.

For example, check OTA San Diego, CA, USA. Channel “KUSI-DT”, Show “TMZ” around 2:30PM to 3:00PM. Every single episode has “1/1/19” as the episode information. This basically makes the whole DVR worthless.

Yes, I am running the latest version, deleted the whole DVR, re-synced the EPG, re-did all the recording series. Nothing helped because the guide itself is totally wrong.

Ah @sa2000 E4 is becoming a major player to other channels, and CBS Justice is one of my girlfriend’s favourites with NCIS and shudder Judge Judy on it  streaming to Xbox in the morning in the bedroom is a must… Who feels my pain?
Anyway, here’s hoping it’s either 5pm or a little after from today onwards. Forgot to ask @cire12, sub regions like Granada and Midlands, will these be fixed soon after? Only ask for a few friends back in the Midlands who are toying with paying for Plex for the TV side.

For instance, right now, on version 1.16…1.1273 in the UK using YouView Yorkshire IPTV as the EPG source (which gives the closest channel lineup to the HDHR) in the DVR, both ITV1 (003) and ITV2 (006) for Saturday morning (less than 36 hours away) are showing ITV1 Network Programming and ITV2 Programming respectively.

Maybe I’m at fault somehow, maybe I’m not - but it was all working fine for months before all this shenanigans blew up. Sorry but I haven’t got enough spare time to fanny about trying this and that to (hopefully) get it working.

Originally it was easy & quick to set up and it worked first time right from the start. Now it isn’t, so I’m going to skip using Plex DVR for a while and use something else until this all blows over…

I see the same for Saturday on those ITV channels
ITV on 003 also has a date of 10th July for the ITV Network Programming (strange date on ITV2 one also)

I have stopped using Plex DVR for now, hopefully by the time the new EPG is realsed for everyone (Monday) all the issues will be resolve

Thanks for confirming you see the same, so it’s not just me! Likewise, using something else for now until things return to normal.

The “orderly” transition from Gracenote didn’t work for me. All my EPG refreshes were failing at 4%.

So I’ve deleted the DVR and set it up again. Like everyone else in the UK, I find that the line-ups are trashed.

There’s no available lineup that’s a full match to my transmitter (LU6 postcode, Sandy Heath transmitter). So I have to manually remap around 20 stations to the EPG.

For reference, here’s the correct Sandy Heath lineup: https://ukfree.tv/transmitters/tv/Sandy_Heath (scroll down one page and select “List by channel number”).

Now has anything ever gone smoothly when upgrading something major with Plex  on the subject of the EPG though, it’s been a rollercoaster and I do hope it finally is fixed, then recording won’t be a issue anymore.

Dave

The lineup to use for your address would be “Freeview Anglia OTA Broadcast”

I do not believe the web site you referenced for Sandy Heath is official or up to date

The channels available through Sandy Heath should be

There have been freeview changes this year and they are not reflected in the page you quoted
