Sadly wanting to revert but most likely not possible, I think I read somewhere. I’ve had to edit my post in here 5 times to add more errors. Not a great experience
Sadly what you see in the EPG has been going on since it was introduced
New flag missing or wrongly applied to episodes
Season/Episode numbers wrong
Episodes without Season/Episode, many have the wrong date on them
Yeah, been catching up on this post’s comments every so often but my Gracenote EPG listings came to an end and wouldn’t refresh so had to upgrade.
Very annoying how literally all my previously scheduled series aren’t being matched up to listings on the new EPG. The NEW tag being missing is annoying, NEW tag being on episodes that aren’t NEW along with the other issues you’ve stated. ![]()
I’m now scheduling recordings manually and it annoying missed one yesterday… if anyone from the Plex Team wants to look into it, here’s my logs. Hopefully there’s something in there. It was the recording for the Horizon episode in my post above that didn’t schedule to record. It’s now scheduled for Wed, Jul 24th… Plex Media Server Logs_2019-07-17_09-35-24.zip (3.1 MB)
They’ll want you to fill in the webform Plex EPG Lineup Inaccuracies
I did that for the all of my lineup inaccuracies. This was a failed recording, for some unknown reason. Totally gone from the recording schedule and rescheduled.
To resolve this, I’m having to limit to the channel they’re originally broadcasted on, in this case Channel 105 (HD variant of Channel 005). Reasoning is, these series (Police Interceptors & Traffic Cops) are originally broadcasted on Channel 005 & 105 and are on another channel at the moment, which are being marked as NEW when they aren’t. Did fill out the form though to report these issues ![]()
Is there any reason why series that were set to record before the server upgrade, aren’t being set to record when NEW episodes come onto the guide? Some sort of mis-match?
Also do the Poster Arts for the DVR Recording Schedule and Guide come from TheTVDB?
For me this seems to have happened when the shows don’t have the correct year in the new guide. Most shows are currently shown as “(2019)” in the Swedish guide.
Re Police Interceptors and Traffic Cops on chanels 5, 5Spike, 5+1 and 5 HD - is it still wrong ? I believe that issue has been resolved. Let me know of any series / episodes where it is still wrong - giving channel number and series/episode info
Thank you
Still probblems with Police Inerceptors (not sure if you are only looking at the New flag at the moment, or all the issues with shows)
Airing at the moment

S13 E11 is correct
Hello,
Just un-limited the recording channel and no recordings have been scheduled so seems to be resolved. No more schedule being filled up.
I see this issue below, aswell -
In-terms of other issues, I’ve seen -
24/07/2019 9PM Channel 006 ITV2 - Love Island - shows E51, actually E52 tonight. Have reported this issue on the form, episode numbers were correct until after a certain episode aired.
26/07/2019 8PM Channel 002 & 102 BBC2/HD - Gardeners’ World - isn’t marked as NEW. Also no Series/Episode numbers showing. It’s this episode. Think I reported this show not being marked as NEW on the form as well.
Also any reason why Poster Art for shows in the Guide & Recording Schedule/Priority have changed? Preferred the poster art Plex chose before the EPG provider switch, not sure if something has changed.
Thanks for your help! ![]()
The specific question I asked about was the “New” indicator issue you mentioned before
But yes i need to have examples of other issues
Each series needs to be investigated separately for episode / season number errors
Fot the synopsis, I am afraid for Europe - including the UK, we are now receiving general show level text for a lot of series and not specific episode text. It is hoped that this will be addressed sometime in the future
This has been referred to our provider.
FYI Issues with Season and Episode numbers need to be investigated on a show by show basis - so each case where it is important would need to be reported and will investigate and refer to the provider
The ITV2 issue appears to be correct now when checking our provider data
The 24th July 9pm episode of Love Island does appear to be episode 52. The next episode for 25th is showing as E53 with the “New” flag
May have need a full EPG Refresh to pick up corrections
The BBC 2 issue with the “NEW” flag for Gardeners’ World has been referred to our provider. The episode numbers I have also mentioned but i do not believe we had these numbers for this show in the previous EPG
Hi sa2000, I’m not sure if it’s a global issue, but “Grande ClearSource Dallas Digital”
Cartoon Network has loads of shows with missing season/episode data. For a lot of episodes the episode title is there, but that doesn’t trigger a match. On this particular channel there is also completely incorrect data for the lineup as close to todays date as saturday when “toonami” is on. The airing times for most shows is incorrect. In addition there seems to be no data at all further than about nine days from now.
The other channel that seemingly has major issues is Boomerang. On this channel every show from July 29 on is listed as a presumably correctly titled show with absolutely no metadata of any sort included. Because of this I’m pretty much scheduled to record half of the days programming for over a week so far on that channel lol.
Maybe it’s a bit of an “out there” suggestion, but shouldn’t the EPG provider be doing this? Shouldn’t they be comparing their EPG with the OTA EPG and spotting the errors themselves?
Otherwise what’s to stop them just making this stuff up?
This should be done by Plex/Your new provider
I am paying for this service (which has now been broken since end of June), currently it is unusable due to too many issues
You (Plex) decided to change provider of the EPG to one that is completely broken, and i personally find it very poor business practise that you expect users to tell you of the errors before you will fix them
This is getting very annoying with this attitude of get the customer to find the errors
Find the errors and fix them yourselves, I am paying for this awful service
Exactly
It’s getting a bit pathetic now
Yes, they should be, and Plex should have confirmed the data before rolling it out.
We are now all beta testers (bug catchers?) whilst losing the functionality that we paid for.
Plex doesn’t even appear to care enough about its Plex Pass users to even officially acknowledged the problem (I am not talking about the Plex employees on this forum; I mean their official blog or an apology email to the customer base).
…and, if you are spotting only tiny or occasional errors, you may be doing it indefinitely if TiVo’s response is to merely fix that individual error and not address the root cause behind it. …we’ll never know as that is going on behind their curtain.
I gave up with Plex EPG last week and it’s like a breath of fresh air to not have to waste time checking it. I’ll check it out again in a couple of months time or when the forum quietness down over this.
Meanwhile, I can recommend NextPVR as your primary DVR. It does requires a subscription to SchedulesDirect ($6 for 2 months, $25/annum). Your stress levels will reduce and you’ll get hours of your life back. Interestingly, SchedulesDirect uses Gracenote…
Thanks for confirming it has been passed on.
[Removed Suggestion as not suitable for every cirimstance]
Also are these Poster Arts coming from the EPG provider too? Never seen these before on TheTVDB or TheMovieDB for example. Quite a lot of mine are old or one’s I’ve never seen before ![]()

TheMovieDB:
I hope they don’t do this; season/episode is a more robust way of doing this and recognised everywhere. It also allows your recordings to be recognised by other apps.
