Just tried the same un-install/re-install and run procedure, all to no effect.
Its frustrating that you can’t reinstall an older version of DSM when this happens.

Hi all,
Also seeing this issue on a DS916+ on DSM 6.2-23739 Update 2.
Looking forward to a solution!
Thanks.
Ds1515+, same issue of Plex not running after latest DSM update.
Hi all,
Plex MediaServer 1.13.4.5251 was not starting on DS1817+ after update from DSM 6.2-23739 Update 1 to DSM 6.2-23739 Update 2.
Did not stop Plex when upgrading I know not smart but there used to be a warning if this was needed.
Uninstalled Plex completely also removing Plex folders Library and tmp_transcoding.
Installed official Plex 1.12.2.4929 from Synology but this Plex version also fails to start.
Looking forward to a solution!
Thanks.
Experiencing the exact same issue on my Synology DS415+ after updating to the latest DSM version.
Will wait for an update!
Just throwing my hat in the ring… mine is doing the same thing too
I had the same issue this morning. I fixed it by going to the plex website and directly downloading a new .spk. After manually installing the new one everything starts up just fine
@treasureChest… I hope you are not sending us for a treasure hunt
Whats your version of Plex?
The package center tells me that I’m running PlexMediaServer 1.13.4.5251-2e6e8f841 the x86_64 version. FYI I’m on a DS416play. No bamboozles I promise
Just tested @treasureChest’s suggestion and that seems to be absolutely fine.
@treasureChest is our hero and savior!
Thank you!
DS-916+ - updated both Plex and DSM today, I couldn’t get it started at all, tried reinstalling to no avail.
After I saw your post, I thought I’d try, it had the exact same version I had, however there was a 64-bit version.
I had the 32-bit version installed - my update notification also downloaded the 32-bit version. I downloaded the x86_64 version from https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/#plex-media-server , installed and no probs, and no obvious data loss. Even remembered where I was in the episode I was watching last. Continue watching had my half watched episodes as well.
Edit Most importantly, thank you @treasureChest !
Thanks that worked for me!
Running DS1515+ installing PlexMediaServer-1.13.4.5251-2e6e8f841-x86_64.spk fixed the issue.
That indeed seems to solve the problem!
The previous spk of Plex Media Server installed on my Synoogy Nas was a 32bits spk.
I downloaded the 64bits version and installed it on the old one.
https://downloads.plex.tv/plex-media-server/1.13.4.5251-2e6e8f841/PlexMediaServer-1.13.4.5251-2e6e8f841-x86_64.spk
Then PMS started perfectly!
Thanks @treasureChest
By @treasureChest a cider. Worked for me too.
Wouldn’t have though to try the 64bit version. Cheers all.
Hi
I also tried the PlexMediaServer 1.13.4.5251-2e6e8f841 the x86_64 version. It works fine on a DS716+, wich should be a 32bit, so ???
DS716+ has a 64bit cpu
I have a DS415+, just reinstalled the 32-bit version and got the same error. I don’t think I can use the 64-bit version can I?
I have a DS415+, too.
DS415+ works with 64bit version which I just try (PlexMediaServer-1.13.4.5251-2e6e8f841-x86_64.spk ), cheer up!
