The first method shown, through the Synology GUI, doesn’t provide hardware access because Synology doesn’t allow such things.
The second method should seem a little more traditional since it’s run from the command line. You’ll still be able to control it from the GUI.
Remember to make 100% certain you follow the steps to get the UID & GID from your system (The value I use is not guaranteed on all systems)
Don’t be afraid to adjust it.
