Some problem here with Synology and a KS8000.
And for everyone who is searching for the previous server install spk for Synology: https://downloads.plex.tv/plex-media-server-new/1.16.3.1433-359b06978/synology/PlexMediaServer-1.16.3.1433-359b06978-x86_64.spk Here it is. This fixes the problem. Just uninstall and reinstall the plex app. All settings will still be there after uninstallation.
Same here, very frustrated:
PlexMediaServer-1.16.5.1488-deeb86e7f-MyCloudPR4100
Same issues, am shocked they still havent fixed this. I own a samsung un55ks8500. Working around this at the moment by casting from my s10 to chromecast.
same problem. how to get an old version on samsung tv back? my linux fedora plex player works fine.
Exact same issue here. Samsung TV now completely useless in terms of PLEX. Had to fire up the xBox tonight. No issue with Plex on that device. Bloody hell… what is going on with Plex development?
downgrading the server helped. there is just some buffering at each tv episode but then the stream is fine
Apparently, and amazingly, no one involved with Plex beta-testing uses a Samsung TV. Or if they do they’re in a minority of Samsungs that actually work with the latest update. Second time in 6 months this has happened. Last time the Samsung app just showed random code and giberish on both my TVs. Robbed a Firestick off another TV just to watch stuff on my main one for a few weeks until they fixed it. Good times.
Trouble with PLEX is that every time there is an update you cross your fingers… shouldn’t be like that.
Made the same mistake, usually I never update my UnRAID docket Plex APP but now buffering/skipping every 20 seconds with multiple minutes skipped forwards.
The version I updated to on was: 1.16.4.1469
Rolled back to previous docket store and after installing 1.16.3.1402 its now working without issue, thank goodness for backups.
Version working: 1.16.3.1402
Thanks Bernd for saving my day !
I’m having the exact same issue on my Samsung TV. Watching a movie and it will go to buffering and then jump forward. I think I found a work around which was to change the quality to a low value than the original but that’s not really acceptable.
Just to add… I have switched off “direct play” and “direct stream” in the Plex settings on a SamSung TV and initial tests seem to suggest it’s a good work around with no jumping. THis is kinda borne out with my previous work around which was to change the video quality before playback.
Same issue here, disabling direct play solve the problem but force a transcoding.
Downgrading to 16.3…
Same problem here. I rolled back the plex server using these instructions and now it’s back to working.
But can’t update again until this problem is solved.
Same issue, and a huge bummer since the samsung app is all we have to use.
Plex for Samsung v. 3.109.2 (tizen 2.4.0)
Server v. 1.16.4.1469
Are the guys at Plex aware of the issue and working on a fix ???
We’re aware, we’re investigating
So is this a server or client issue ??
