I started having the “secure connections” error just over a week ago. Could someone check my certificate please?
I have reset the certs of all affected users in this thread so far.
Please stop and restart your servers.
Please refer to your original post above for a moderator edit. If you are not affected by this particular issue, I have added a note in there.
Maybe take a look at Important note about Chrome and Firefox Local Network Access
and do also compare the hosted web app with the local web app.
Do compare different Plex client types in general, in order to determine if the issue can be connected to a certain client type.
Ensure that you are not on an old server version between 1.41.7.x to 1.42.0.x
If there are still issues, please open your own forum thread.
Hi, I’ve been having the same issue and I’ve tried everything I can think of for the last five hours. My Plex server suddenly stopped working remotely. It says it’s accessible outside my network, but when I try to access content, I get:
“No content available. Check your network connection and verify that any media servers are online.”
Here’s what I’ve done so far:
-
Server version: 1.42.2.10156 (PlexNorge)
-
Running Unraid 7.x with Plex Docker in Host network mode
-
Port 32400 is correctly forwarded in my router
-
Verified
iptablesrules — nothing is blocking Plex -
Added a new Plex claim token to
Preferences.xmland restarted the container -
Removed and re-added the Plex Docker container without deleting appdata — no change
-
Verified UID/GID, paths (
/mnt/disk1/docker/plex/for/transcodeand/data,/mnt/remotes/...for media) -
Confirmed Docker is using host mode, not VPN/bridge
-
Checked for firewall rules or custom iptables in Unraid — nothing is blocking traffic
-
Tried different Docker images, including pulling a specific version (
1.42.1.10060-4e8b05daf) — version still defaults tolatest
Despite all this, remote access still fails even though Plex reports it as online.
It seems similar to the certificate/secure connection issues mentioned in other threads — could that be affecting me too?
Is there a way to get back my friends on library access or do i need to add them manually again?
Best regards
Kristian

Hi, could you check my certificate please?
Many thanks

Bonjour, je rencontre les même problèmes que tout le monde ici.
J’ai passé beaucoup de temps à essayer de dépanner cela fait longtemps que le serveur est en place sans problèmes. Merci pour votre aide.

hi @OttoKerner would you mind checking my certificate as well, please? ![]()

I think I have the same issue. Can you please check mine too?
Indeed you do.
Please stop and restart your Plex server.
I believe I am affected by this issue. Can connect remotely from custom URL plex.shoebottom.ca with self managed certificate, but any connections from app.plex.tv do not work. Log from my server a few minutes ago:
Dec 04, 2025 13:47:20.821 [135451022998328] Warning — [HttpClient/HCl#ae] HTTP error requesting GET https://159-2-174-161.670e5c219d4e44fd9fe9684036755f02.plex.direct:32400/identity (60, SSL peer certificate or SSH remote key was not OK) (SSL certificate problem: certificate has expired)
Fixed. Thank you very much
Please wait at least 10 minutes.
Then stop and restart your Plex server.
Thank you, seems to be fixed.
Can you please do mine as well, seem to be having same issue.

I think mine is stuck also, Thanks in advance
@OttoKerner It looks like you have been doing a lot of heavy lifting on this issue. good work. Are you able to check my server? My partner & I can access remotely, but my sister can’t access it via her wi-fi, only on mobile data. Is this part of the same issue?

Man poor @OttoKerner you get so many requests. Hate to add to that list but my server needs a cert if you could. Really appreciate your hard work and dedication, hope they paying you the big bucks

@OttoKerner Can you please check mine also, I’ve updated plex container last week and since then the remote is flapping. Thanks in advance

Any advise would be appreciated. I’ve been trying to get remote access connected for months and can’t find a solution. I have tried everything even getting a new computer but still get the connected fully accessible message and then a few seconds later it says its not available outside your network.
Thanks
