Any new ideas? It pretty frustrating

I have the same problem and do not have the file to roll back to. I have only just bought the Lifetime Plex Pass before they announced the support for the Australian Guide was dropped. Could I please have my money back, this is way too much hassle.

Evening All, Having the same issue as everybody else, did the server update and plex could not find my HDHomerun, I went from the public to beta update and was able to see my dvr for a few seconds but then it disappeared again. Tried the Howard Maneuver as listed above but no luck. Something odd that I am noticing is that when I log on to the plex media server from the taskbar it gives me an error message twice but let me log in by pressing the sign in button. Just wanted to contribute my server logs in the hopes it helps in the effort to resolve the issue. Located in FloridaPlex Media Server.log (411.9 KB)

I can see the dvr getting locked out after failed migration

Jul 30, 2019 22:31:45.553 [11088] WARN - No matching Cloud EPG lineup; deleting DVR.

I have sent you windows binary for development build 1.16.3.1451-f665a7ead which should auto delete the DVR without locking it out. It failed to find a matching lineup. You will need to manually recreate it. Please wait a few minutes after launch to allow for the deletion to complete

I’ve DM’d them to you.

Same issue. Will this be corrected soon in an update or do I have to set up everything again and if I delete my DVR do I have to set up all my recordings again? Super annoying.

Edit: rolled back, deleted DVR, updated, reinstalled DVR, works and recordings are still set up. Oddly enough when I tried to use the rolled back version the guide would not update. Still annoying but appears to be fixed.

I have had same issue with DVR for a month. I tried rolling back my version and it seemed to work but I still couldn’t use DVR/Live TV on my Apple TV or iPad. I have no desire to play the roll back, delete, recreate, and cross my fingers and hope it works game. I understand it’s free other than the $5 bucks I pay every month but I have downloaded 3 or 4 Plex server updates since my DVR quit working each time hoping the update would fix the issue. Still waiting. I guess Plex is not as mature a company as I thought. At the very least I would hope for instructions on how to resolve the issue and not have to rely on forum fixes (no offense intended toward forum members). Sorry for hijacking your comment but I don’t see a way to communicate directly with Plex
I am hoping they monitor the forums.

Add me to the list. Plex is no longer seeing my HDHomeRun. I have 3 different servers in my house and the 2 windows servers just never find it, however the linux server sees it and can successfully set the DVR service up just fine.

Windows are running Version 1.16.3.1433
Linux is running Version 1.16.3.1402

All,
my setup: PMS on Synology NAS and HDHomeRun CONNECT
Version & Issue history:

  • few days back when I upgraded my PMS to 1.16.1.x, my DVR settings were lost and when tried to add it all didn’t discover it on the network.
  • today I upgraded the version to 1.16.3.1402, in a hope that it would fix it.
  • I was encountered with the same issue.
  • PMS didn’t discover the HDHomeRun
  • Tired manually adding using IP, which kind of worked to a point. It allowed me to get to the next setup screen and let me scan for channels, I was able to click continue but got stuck at the 3rd screen which is suppose to be Language and location. It didnt show me any field for location/postcode entry.
  • I almost gave up but thought I will give it a reboot (PMS package Stop/Restart(Run).
  • this last step however seem to have magically fixed it all. HDHOMERUN appeared under the DVR as if nothing had ever happened
all my recording schedule, and configuration was there.

Phew
!

Spoke too soon guys, the issue re-appeared as the PMS lost DVR configuration.
Tried restarting again and it reappears but only for short while.

It definitely seems that there is some DVR coding issue in the PMS with these new versions.

You might want to try and delete your DVR during the short period of time that it is visible, restart your PLEX server and then try to set up the DVR again
I have read in other threads here that this fixed many broken DVRs during resent upgrades

There seems to be two issues going on currently
The first one is a bug in deleting the DVR during the upgrade to be able to use the new guide and the second one has something to due with downloading the new guide
One of the PLEX employees is circulating a patched release for testing in one of the threads

I restarted the server and the Tuner was again seen present, but EPG actualisation failed to start without error message. I then deleted the Tuner and tried to add it again. Plex was not able to find it. Afterward I got an error message from Plex taht a error occured by deleting the DVR.

After a new Server restart, my Tuner is no more present, but Plex is still no able to find it.
In Silicondust SW, everything still works fine. The attached log is coming from the first restart, delete and re-add manipulations described above.

Thanks for helping

Appears to be a failed auto delete after failing to match the old lineup

Aug 01, 2019 14:25:47.332 [0x7f30f911f700] WARN - No matching Cloud EPG lineup; deleting DVR.

I am sending you QNAP package for alpha build of Plex Media Server 1.16.4.1457-898929abb
This should not result in a DVR hang after auto delete and should allow you to recreate the DVR

Let me see server logs captured 10 minutes after relaunch of Plex Media Server and attempting to see the DVR through server settings

If it is the failed auto migration, i do have a development build to make available to you

Thank you for reply. After sending message I rolled back to a version before July 1, deleted DVR, upgraded to latest version and added DVR and it seems to be working now.

sounds like it was the auto delete bug in the 1.16.1 - 1.16.3 versions

None of the solutions work for me. I rolled back to 1.16.0.1226 and the DVR was fine so I deleted the DVR and upgraded back to 1.16.3 and no difference. It won’t detect my HDHR so I have to add it manually and that works fine but hangs up after selecting my TV provider, just get the spinning wheel on the guide screen after confirming all the channels. I’ve tried it twice and so far it’s been spinning for about 3 hours so I’m guessing it’s not going to work.

I don’t use the DVR a whole lot but this is a pretty core feature that I would expect to work. And seeing that it worked fine in 1.16.0 it’s most certainly not my computer, HDHR, Plex database or anything else, it’s a bug.

Looking at the PMS logs I can see the following error repeated for various channels several hundred times but not repeating, it all happened at this exact H:M:S and that was hours ago, still just hanging there doing nothing:

Aug 01, 2019 08:41:16.387 [0x70000a54a000] INFO - EPG: Skipping channel ‘DENVR8’ because it’s not a unique call sign.

Thanks for the new package. Tuner is back and EPG is loading. The channel list is even better than before with no more missing channels. Great Job
