I’ve attached the logs from before adding the DVR, and after adding the DVR.
For some reason now it’s successfully added the DVR and is downloading the guide data.
That’s great for me because it appears to be working again (so far), not so great as we don’t have any logs for why it broke in the first place
Well, I’m not able to connect either after upgrading plex to my HDHomerun proxy software (antennas: https://github.com/TheJF/antennas) which was working just perfect until the upgrade.
I ran the update to 1402 and got the guide working. It found the old DVR schedule, but not the enabled channels.
Now, when I try to disable channels, that option is not available because Plex (falsely) says it can’t find the HDHomeRun Dual. I can watch live TV through plex, so it must be able to find it.
Also, did ya’ll send an email about this change? Do you expect people who have a running system and busy lives to go read your announcements?
I received an email about the EPG update on Thu, Jun 20, 10:31 AM
We’re making major changes to how guide data is curated and delivered in Plex. Beginning on June 30, 2019 Plex will require Plex Media Server version 1.16.1 to maintain EPG data and overall Live TV & DVR functionality. Users that don’t upgrade by the above date will begin losing guide data starting July 1, 2019.
After going back to the older version (1.16.0.1226-7eb2c8f6f) my tuner works again.
So i rolled back to 1.16.0.1226-7eb2c8f6f, deleted my DVR setup, upgraded to 1.16.1.1246 and my tuner can be found. I added an XMLTV files so EPG is also working.
Problem i face since then is that i cannot tune to most channels anymore (was possible in version 1.16.0.1226)
Currently running version: 1.16.3.1433
Click on a channel in the EPG and at most channels i get: “Could not tune channel. Please check your tuner or antenna.”, but i also found 2 channels so far which seem to work fine (i don’t know what the difference is)
What could be wrong? This is since the upgrade to 1.16.1.1246 (and higher)
I have only one tuner: HDHomeRun EXPAND, Model: HDHR3-4DC, Firmware: 20190621 (working perfect outside Plex, all channels work)
I’m from the The Netherlands (but i have a working XMLTV so EPG is working)
The tuner was working fine in version 1.16.0.1226 (and earlier), since version 1.16.1.1246 (and higher) i have issues with playback of most channels. The tuner is functioning with other software.
A fix would be highly appreciated.
Because i’m having a firewall between my Plex Server and the TV Tuner i also checked the firewall logging;
Click in the Plex EPG to on of the two channels which actually work: Traffic seen in the firewall and of course everything is accepted.
Click in the Plex EPG on another channel: No traffic in the firewall log. (and Plex showing “Could not tune channel. Please check your tuner or antenna.”)
So it seems that Plex is not trying to tune to the channel at all for the channels which do not work for some reason.
Plex Server logfile:
Around 14:01 i clicked multiple channels which did not work (“Could not tune channel. Please check your tuner or antenna.”)
Around 14:02 i clicked channel “Euronews”, which is working.
Get the Plex server update on my QNAP just now and I’m very disapointed that my HD Homerun tuner is no more found by Plex. As single App with Silcondust SW it’s working.
Plex Team, please get it working again for Switzerland as well.
On plex docker you can delete the tv.plex.providers.epg* from /Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-in Support/Databases# and the guide will re-initialise correctly.
we found the bug and there is a development build that is being tried by one user. The issue was that when the auto migration to the new EPG did not find a matching lineup (or if the country is no longer supported by the EPG) then the DVR got locked out
Please enable it in server advanced general settings
Restart the server to get fresh logs and covering the start up sequence
Then in settings for Live TV and DVR, delete the DVR. Wait a couple of minutes. Then recreate the DVR and enter your post code / country and go through setup.
On completion of setup, try the DVR and if there is a problem, note down the issue and time and capture the logs
It could be the DVR being locked out on the attempt to find a matching lineup. Need to see logs and if it is, I can send you a development with a fix to try
Looks like a failed attempt to match a lineup and ended up with the DVR being locked out. I have a fix which I sent to one user. Unfortunately I do not have it for docker and will need to wait for the fix to get released
I will send you a development build that overcomes a bug where the DVR gets locked out during deletion. It gets deleted if the new EPG does not support the country or if the lineup does not match. You would need to create the DVR manually
I’m one of the people like earlier in this thread in Australia that is getting “Unable to load DVRs” since the Aussie EPG data was scrapped.
But my Plex server definitely still has the HDHR loaded into it… it just lacks EPG data.
I want to delete the HDHR from the Plex server but I’m unable to due to this error.
Some people suggested downgrading, deleting the HDHR and then upgrading again, but I’m not sure where to download the files for previous Plex versions.
Sent you mac os dmg file download link for development build 1.16.3.1451-f665a7ead
Just found the bug where the DVR gets locked out when Plex Media Server starts process to delete it. With this version, the deletion should complete allowing you to manually set it up after that
Many thanks. With this dev build, the HDHR showed up in the settings.
I deleted it and got this error, but it does seem to be deleted now and the HDHR now shows up when I click “SET UP PLEX DVR” (it didn’t before - because it was already set up, just not showing).
