PlexTV Server can no longer see HDHomerun tuner

Go to down load and turn off the Plex Pass channel 1.16.0.x should be presented or this link should work for Mac OS

https://downloads.plex.tv/plex-media-server-new/1.16.0.1226-7eb2c8f6f/macos/PlexMediaServer-1.16.0.1226-7eb2c8f6f-x86_64.dmg

I cant downgrade as it wont allow me to. Manually adding the tuner doesnt work as it gets stuck at the stage where it is adding the guide that I have manually selected. And still my DVR isnt working. Will there be a resolution to this issue?

The download worked but I cant downgrade :frowning: Thanks anyway

In my case, using a windows install, I had to uninstall 1.16.1.1273 first and then it would allow me to install 1.16.0.1226. As for other platforms, I can’t really comment on how easy it is to roll back to a previous version.

exact same problem in AUS with Version 1.16.1.1273 on HDHomeRun CONNECT.

Same Problem here in Australia with HD Homerun - uninstalled and rolled back.

Can someone suggest a EPG provider on Australia? I tried ICE tv previously, but it wasn’t as rich content as what Plex used to provide.

Whew! So that worked. Uninstalling 1.161 version and then res installing 1.160. I was worried I would lose all my libraries and recording settings but everything is the same and was able to remove the DVD after downgrading and reinstall. Hell of a learning curve. Thanks for the help

You’re the first person to say Gracenote has richer content that Ice TV.

To everyone facing this issue, It seems the newest beta update Version 1.16.1.1291
Has fixed it at least for me!

I’ll let you all check but seems the issues resolved - now onto the EPG issue D:

(edited) Scratch that spoke to soon

(update) Worked for about 2 seconds then back to Unable to load DVR’s

Uploading new Log based on the newest version 1.16.1.1291

hope this help’s resolve itPlex Media Server Logs_2019-06-29_14-19-37.zip (1.4 MB)

Attempted DVR location and reinstall at the last point of the log should be close to the end or start depending if its in ascending or descending time order

Same issue here. Getting the error ‘cannot load DVRs’.

Windows 10
Plex server version 1.16.1.1291
Hauppauge WinTV-DualHD

Rolled back to 1.16.0.1226 and it’s working again.

Thanks to everyone who replied, uninstalling Plex Media Server, installing an earlier version, deleting the DVR, updating to the latest version & then resetting up the DVR worked.

Plex keeps earlier versions of itself on your hard drive, (assuming you had it installed long enough to have upgraded). In Windows they’re found in C:\Users\insert_user_name\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Updates.

When Plex Media Server is uninstalled, it leaves all its settings behind, so when an earlier version is installed, it picks them up including your DVR/s, so you can then delete your DVR/s, upgrade Plex Media Server & recreate the DVR/s.

Thanks once again!

I had the same issue. After exhausting research i found out the issue was with my Avast antivirus settings. Try turning off your antivirus and see if it works. I was able to adjust the setting to get my antivirus ad the HDHomerun to work together. It is not PLEX.

Update: So what worked for me, removing the DVR from 1226, upgrading to the latest 1291 build, then setting up my DVR once more, and that seems to have worked
One quirk the first time I rebooted my server post upgrade the DVR was detected but about 15 seconds later it just disappeared and the spinning ball just sat there never detecting anything
I rebooted again, and when the screen came up saying it detected my HDHomeRun, I hit continue immediately and it let me continue with setup all the way through, and it appears to be working fine now
I’ll update again tomorrow if there are any more “quirks”

1.16.1.1291
Can’t detect the device, manually adding by IP just sits here
 forever.

After another reboot

The HDHOMERUN was found again, and tuning channels worked again.
For anybody playing at home:

  1. Deleted tuner under 1.16.0.1226
  2. Added tuner and IceTV because of Plex’s possibly illegal removal of Australian EPG (under consumer law)
  3. Upgraded to 1.16.1.1291
  4. Rebooted
  5. Couldn’t add the tuner (auth discovery found nothing, manual IP just spins)
  6. Rebooted
  7. Couldn’t add the tuner (auth discovery found nothing, manual IP just spins)
  8. Rebooted
  9. The tuner was available and working

having the same problem in Australia.
