Random Shows Refuse to play - Causes Player restart

@BigWheel, I did have some files that had a cover art attachment like the one I provided that would not crash for me. The only difference between the ones that would fail and the ones that would work was the dimensions of the cover art attachment.

Personally, I just removed the attachments from all my files with mkvpropedit.exe --delete-attachment 1 which is a tool from mkvtoolnix. I don’t know if I have the full powershell script I ran any longer to make it easier to hit all my files that had one, but I can check my cmd logs

ok. thanks for the info.

I’m sorry I don’t have any updates

Then what’s the overall status? Has the bug been assigned? Looked at? Investigated? Since it was something that you broke, why not go back to a version that it worked correctly and then see how you broke it?

I’ve got the same problem, on Firestick 4k Max.
Can we please get some actual support on this?

Not only is is affecting numerous users, it’s a ROYAL pain in the rear. It absolutely destroys the user experience.

I’m genuinely curious why you’ve spent 6 months bumping this issue and not just removed the thumbnails and moved on? I get that you want to see it fixed, and that the issue is absolutely Plex’s fault, but at some point for your own sanity you should just wipe all the thumbs and call it a day.

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
