Yes, I did. But I don’t know how to attach them in this forum.
Also, I found out last evening that I have a similar issue on my Roku - I cannot play any media. I’ve not tried anything on that yet to resolve the issue.
Having two different client platforms with issues makes me suspect the server. That is running Ubuntu 24.04.2 and has Plex server version 1.41.6.9685
Sorry about any confusion. It turns out the media I was trying to play on the Roku was on a drive that had lost power. Correcting the power issue has resolved the Roku issue.
Not sure what’s up here. I’d mentioned that I’d uninstalled the current version and installed an older version of the Plex android client. Just now I upgraded that client from the Google Play Store to version 2025.15.0 - the same version I had before. Now my tablet does play videos on Plex. Nothing has changed on the server.
Huh, thats odd! I think you might of been seeing an issue with DNS rebinding protection enabled on your network. Depending on your Android version 2025.15 will solve it, and 2025.16 (linked below) will fix it for all Android versions.
I also have this issue, but it’s really weird, it’s not on all videos (but that videos worked well before the upgrade of the app). I tried the APK 205.16.0.966828397 but still not working.
I also upgraded my server to 1.41.6.9685 but nothing changes.
So to resume :
On my Android Phone, some videos (all in the same folder and probably same encoding) were working before app upgrade and not working anymore, only with distant connexion (it works well when I’m in LAN with Wifi activated).
Thanks sixones. Your APK did fix the issue. Before it, I was able to browse my library but anytime I went to play something it would say “source error”. I even opened a port for it but had the same result. Hope others can get the fix ASAP as well though the normal release. It was super frustrating. Honestly, this paywall to stream over public networks has me looking at other solutions, sad to say.
That fixes the source error but I am unable to see subtitles. I hit the CC and it flashes on the app, and the show restarts like it is going to load them and then nothing happens.
I can’t watch anything without subtitles, I hope the fix that is about to be implemented is going to fix this.
Accessiblity should be no.1
Tonight I managed to get the subtitles to work after stopping and starting a few times on the LG.
The subtitle button is not available on my Sony bravia though. I am not sure whether you will be able to see that in the logs.
Is there somewhere I can send them? I don’t want to post them in a live forum.
Thanks
I am running Plex on Windows 11. All worked well until my Android phone updated the Plex app today to 2025.17. Now I get a Source Error when on the same LAN as the server. If I turn of my phone’s WiFi and connect via mobile data it can play my content. I upgraded my Plex server from 1.41.6 to 1.41.7. Now, I can access OTA recordings but not any other MP4, no matter the source. I then downgraded my phone’s Plex app (APK 10.26.0.2578-6cc7ea1a version arm64v8a) and all is working again.
Same issue here Latest version of Android app and server, but I get a Source Error when connected to the LAN via WiFi but it works fine when connected via mobile data.
This issue appears to have gotten worse. I have reverted all my home devices to 10.26 to resolve the issue. Fortunately it has not impacted my Android TV devices, but I’m concerned this media breaking update will make its way there soon enough…
