Server Version#: 7.2.2 72806
Player Version#: 1.41.3.9314 72009314
Hi! Reaching out for help. I’ve tried everything I can find in these forums. Uninstalling, reinstalling manually the 7.2.2+ package, shared folder permissions. Plex is still will not connect to my library. I have had zero issues with Plex for years! Regretting doing this upgrade. If anyone has any ideas, thank you in advance!

To get PMS to reconnect to your account you need to reclaim it.
Below is the FAQ on how to do this ( with screenshots )
FAQ 31: Reset / Reclaim PMS on DSM 7 (Not Authorized - Locked Out)
Uninstall the app - Use the first radio button (KEEP) option.

Reinstall the same SPK version.
Select the “Install using Plex Claim Token” button
Click the ‘Get Plex Claim Token’ blue hyperlink
In the tab which opens, COPY the token it gives you

Return to the installation page. You only have 5 minutes. Be prompt.

If you’ve upgraded from DSM 6, you will have to perform other steps.
Please advise if this was an upgrade from DSM 6 → DSM 7.2.2
or an upgrade from regular DSM 7 → DSM 7.2.2
Thank you! I did that too. The upgrade was from DSM 6 to 7, then an update to 7.2.2. I did “repair” Plex app, then realized I had to update permissions. After all this and reading the forums, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling manually with the PMS 7.2.2+ package, and reclaiming. Still not working
Can you timeline for me?
DSM 6 → DSM 7 – Successful ?
All permissions updated to PlexMediaServer
– ok?
Routine updates of PMS – ok?
Everything worked until upgrading DSM 7.x → DSM 7.2.2 ?
If so,
Stop Plex
Using FileStation,
Navigate PlexMediaServer - AppData - Plex Media Server
Right-Click ‘Logs’ → ‘Compress to Logs.zip’
Download to your computer
Upload the ZIP here so I can see what went wrong
Question: Did you, at any point use the ‘ERASE’ menu option in DSM 7 ?
Thank you!
Yes successful
permissions updated okay
routine updates all good
Yes, Plex always worked without issues prior to the DSM upgrades
I don’t remember an ERASE option.
checking the logs. one sec pls

Thanks.
Logs look good.
I see a duplicate of your Plex server listed on Plex.tv
Did you delete “Preferences.xml” and do a reclaim already?
( 2 days ago) — created 2 hours ago
If so, I can help clear this up (Your players & Plex/web are looking for the old instance and not seeing the new instance)
I didn’t delete any preferences, but I did the reclaiming a couple hours ago
May I have your permission to clean up the duplication in Plex.tv ?
I’ll delete the older instance entry.
We’ll work with the new one and then get you back online
(got a few tweaks to make)

OK… here we go:
Control + F5 in the Plex/web browser to make it update the server list from Plex.tv (or close the browser and reopen it)
Start PMS if not started.
Open http://192.168.1.7:32400/web (the Syno)
It may / may not ask you to claim it.
If you are on that same subnet (192.168.1.x) then go ahead and claim it
Don’t create new library sections … simply click through the other wizard settings as you go
When you get to the dashboard, it should be there.
Please advise your results / progress

Awesome! What do you mean click through the other wizard settings? I’m at an empty home dashboard (so I guess this is working?)

Empty ?
Where’d your media server go?
You should see all your existing libraries .
Plex.tv doesn’t have any library sections registered for you.
You said PMS was working? I’m confused. When did your library sections get deleted ?

It seems to be connecting to the server now, but yes I guess the library sections were deleted after whatever update you made?

All the library sections are maintained in the Databases down inside the PlexMediaServer shared folder.
Those library sections persist even when we reinitialize the ownership like this.
Makes me ask:
Do you have a Plex
shared folder ?
If so, In that Plex shared folder, do you have Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server
?

Now I understand. lol
You upgraded from DSM 6 → DSM 7.2.2 in one step.
No wonder everything is missing.
It’s not yet migrated from DSM 6 → DSM 7 (DSM 7.2.2)
Take a look at this please.
There are a lot of details / steps, all of them easy, but important to do in order
I will help you get through them.
When it’s done, your DSM 6 - > DSM 7.2.2 upgrade will be complete AND PMS will be as it was.
DO NOT DELETE the Plex shared folder! lol
FAQ 27 - Migrating an existing PMS from DSM 6 to DSM 7
NOTICE: DSM 5 → [ DSM 6 ] → DSM 7 First Step
If you first started using Plex with DSM 5, then upgraded to DSM 6, because of a change internal to DSM 6, you will need to perform this step before you start the DSM 7 upgrade.
If you never used DSM 5, or deleted the Plex share sometime during DSM 6, you can skip this step and continue with the normal upgrade steps
Rename the existing Plex shared folder to Plex.old
