  1. Yes… Ignore the version Synology shows in Package Center. It was written for Beta DSM 7. It doesn’t work well anymore with DSM 7 final.

  2. Download from plex.tv/downloads for your machine - Intel 64 bit

  3. When you perform the initial setup -
    a. Open Plex by its IP address on the Syno directly in the browser –
    – http://ip.addr.of.syno:32400/web
    b. After you get it all initialized, you’ll be able to use the QuickConnect link that Synology provides in Package Center.

  4. You’ll need to give PlexMediaServer (the system internal user) permission to read your media shared folders.
