Synology NAS - $NAME is currently unavailable

Everyday when I attempt to access local content on my synology NAS hosted plex, I get error:
Error: $NAS_NAME is currently unavailable
“Please verify the server is running and has a network connection”

The directories in which plex has been configured all have yellow triangle exclamation marks on them on the left hand pane, and does not load any content. The content properly works with mobile apps (checked and verified with android and ipad apps), and works with web browsers just fine.The issue is that both of my amazon fire devices present the same issue of not properly loading the content.

If I uninstall or reinstall the app from amazon fire tv, Plex loads and works just fine. Its until I shutdown the NAS or reboot that it will not properly work or load anymore (in this case my NAS powers down daily).

I thought it had to deal with a recent permissions change I noticed in the forusm, so I gave the user plex admin rights to all content just as a sanity check, but still have the same errors.

It’s not clear if this is a problem with the Amazon or the Synology or the networking between them
