My account shows linked, however in the Tidal tab of plex it’s asking me to subscribe (or rather “Click here to learn more”). The My Tidal, and My Tidal Playlists are all blank with the generic Tidal + Plex = music to your ears. It used to work, when I first linked it 2 weeks ago, but now unlinking and relinking and nothing is working.
I have a lifetime Plex Pass plus Tidal subscription. I have the same issue with Plex not recognising the Tidal subscription and only playing preview 30 seconds for tracks. I’m running PMS 1.18.0.1944 but I see that @Wierdomusic seems to have got it working using a beta PMS that looks newer than the version I’m running. Will investigate to see if that fixes the issue.
Nope. After upgrading to beta PMS 1.18.1.1973 it’s still wasn’t working.
I found that if I went to my Plex account settings / Other Services there was an option to link the Tidal account. No idea why it had become unlinked. I can confirm that it’s working now.
I can access Tidal with the web access but not the desktop Plex app. Tidal is enabled as a source.
Please help or let us know what is going on. I have a lifetime Plex pass and subscribed to Tidal prior to purchasing Plex.
Same here. I wish I’d found this thread before transferring my Tidal account to Plex. It shows linked but in Plex it asks me to subscribe and shows none of my music.
Just tried playing music in the Plex app and it’s acting like my account isn’t connected at all. I can only play previews of tracks. I’ve tried disconnecting and reconnecting and no luck. I can’t even manage my account in Tidal anymore because I transferred it to Plex (to save $1 a month!) And am severely regretting it now. How can Plex push a service like this that doesn’t even work?
Same issue here !
Unable to log on Plex web
Unable to use tidal in Plex IOS…
Is there a solution ?
Same issue/
Tidal used to work in plex, now just a preview.
A subscription that doesnt work.
I just started having this issue today, as well. Everything comes up as Preview and nothing will stream fully in iOS app. If I go to “My Tidal” in the Plex Web app, I get “There was an unexpected error loading this library”. If I go to it on iOS, I get a screen explaining how the Tidal library would work were I subscribed.
I already tried both re-activating the Tidal link in my Plex account as well as unlinking it entirely and re-linking it again. No progress. Also reset cache in the iOS app…
PMS is Version 1.18.3.2156 on macOS. iOS is latest build on iPhone 11 Pro running latest version of Plex app. Has anyone else found any fixes worth trying?
I’m having a similar issue. I have an existing Tidal account that I added last week. It worked fine at first. Today I wanted to separately set up Tidal on my Roku (not through Plex because I read the integration does not work on a Roku) but the Roku would not accept my Tidal password no matter how many times I tried. I then changed my Tidal password and it worked fine on the Roku. However, I lost access on the Plex. I tried unlinking and linking it again, also tried reauthorizing the account a few times with the new log in. It says it is successfully linked and even sends me e-mails stating so. Additionally I restarted the Plex server thinking maybe that was the issue. However, it is just stuck in preview mode. I am able to use my Tidal account just fine on all my other devices aside from Plex. I’m not even sure if the problem is related to changing my password or not as I had not used it on the Plex the last couple of days.
Mine corrected itself on its own about an hour later. Maybe the Tidal account info only syncs every so often on Plex’s servers.
I was hoping that the issue might resolve itself over time, but unfortunately that hasn’t been the case with me. Its so strange because this definitely worked fine for a while!
I’m having this issue too. I actually find it completely unacceptable that the PLEX team haven’t contributed meaningfully to this conversation.
TIDAL integration is a widely advertised ‘feature’ and one of the features that lured me to pay for a PLEX pass. We need someone from the PLEX team to support us here and to take ownership of this issue…especially if this is the only place we can come to for support (which it seems)
Tidal Integration isn’t working for me either.
Plex-Tidal integration not working for me either.
After using Plex ‘basic’ for a few months, I stumped up for a lifetime Plex Pass and a TIDAL account, which I only signed up for due to the alleged Plex integration.
Tidal music doesn’t play back through Plex on my Android TV; Tidal music doesn’t ‘add’ to my Music library no matter how much I try; no access to videos etc through my Music, Movies or TV library…
I have unlinked and relinked my Tidal subscription; I have rebooted my server; I have uninstalled and reinstalled Plex apps on my various devices…
The Tidal integration into my Plex simply doesn’t work and support seems to be non-existent. Highly regretting paying for a lifetime Plex Pass now…
It has been over 5 months since I started this thread. I have seen others posting with the same issue, yet still no fixes for this from Plex. The “My Tidal Playlists” section loads just fine, which hints that the linking of my Tidal account with my Plex account isn’t the issue.
Moving on to the “Recommended” tab… it takes some time to load, but it does eventually load.
Finally, the “My Tidal” tab. This one still does not work. Being a programmer myself, I can’t help but think that it is not a coincidence that it takes exactly 30 seconds for the error message to return (“there was an unexpected error loading this library”). It looks like a timeout is occurring for the API call, and my guess is that a) the API call is incorrect, or b) the amount of music in our Tidal libraries is larger than what the majority of people have.
I am going to go with b), as the shouting would be much louder if the API call was incorrect: everybody would be affected.
I agree it seems to be some sporadic API issue. At least in my experience, also, the behavior of the desktop app has totally different issues than the iOS app. I can’t even get the mobile app to acknowledge that I have an actual linked subscription. I just keep getting the “Sign Up” banner. This is so frustrating!
Add me to list of those now experiencing the “preview” only with Tidal content added to library and access via android app.
I’m kind of at a loss on this one. It doesn’t seem like anyone from Plex is chiming in with any advice besides unlinking & re-linking your account. Most of this integration seems to be an API black box… so there isn’t much else to troubleshot or try to change from the user side.
After relinking my TIDAL account to my Plex account I can now access my TIDAL account within PLEX on the web app and Android app but only if I allow insecure connections between my PLEX server and the web app. If I turn off insecure connections, TIDAL pages are once again displayed with nothing on them as though I don’t have a TIDAL account.
Unfortunately, even when I set ‘secure network failover’ on PLEX for XBOX One to ‘always’ I’m still not able to use TIDAL on PLEX for XBOX One.
Seeing as nobody from the PLEX team is showing any interest in this, I’m not sure whether I should bother to look for more help on the topic elsewhere. So frustrating! I can’t believe I was conned into a PLEX lifetime pass…
