TIDAL integration used to work... now does not work

Hopefully that will be useful to some people @patrikulus - thanks. Unfortunately no good for me, as the issue occurs on both Apple TV app and the Windows Plex app.

I have tried both the standard and beta versions of the Apple TV app, as well as completely removing the Plex app from my Apple TV.

For Windows, the issue was occurring in the old “Plex Media Player” app, as well the current “Plex” application that is replacing it.

Same… unfortunately it didn’t change anything for me either

Recently I resigned up with Tidal with a new account. I am trying to link my Plex to my new Tidal account. Everything goes smoothly. However when I go to “My Tidal” or “My Tidal Playlists” I am told I need to have an active TIDAL subscription which I do.

Yup… that tracks. Don’t get why and Plex is offering zero help. I’ll probably just kill my Tidal subscription. The last thing I need is another subscription service. The Plex integration was the only attractive feature here.

Same issue here. Oddly working server side, but not on any other device.

Have tried removing, unlinking etc etc. Still nothing on any other device but server side.

Judging by that, seems this is a Plex side issue… yet Plex says to ask in the forums?
Yet here we are…

Same issue here… Plex pass lifetime and Tidal Premium subscriber. :disappointed:

I give up… Tidal subscription cancelled before it renews again next month. Thanks for nothing, Plex.

does logging out/in of client and/or unlinking/linking Tidal again help at all?

@BigWheel I’m sorry, but did you even read the contents of this thread before posting that question?? I have painstakingly provided exact steps followed, screen shots documenting the issues across multiple Plex platforms and uploaded logs and you’re asking us whether we’ve tried unlinking / linking our Tidal accounts again? After the total silence from anyone from Plex in this thread, that’s the solution that’s being suggested? You might as well ask me whether my Plex server is plugged in and if I tried turning it on and off again!

not everyone always has the same underlying issue even though symptoms may be the same. I was speaking to another user outside of this forum who said it did help him so i thought i would ask here.

I also see mine is working server side but not from any clients.

I’m the same as you, tried unlinking and relinking several times.

@BigWheel if you follow the repro steps by @SVXDAN83, you will see the same issue that I am getting.

I don’t see any steps I only see descriptions of the issue and screenshots of the issue. which is helpful but I have others here for whom is it working fine.

@bigwheel yet you have a thread started in July 2019 that people keep tagging onto when they have an issue that sounds like the one I originally posted. I get it… different platforms, different versions. However, just because it is working fine for others, please don’t dismiss the fact that there is an issue for the rest. Tell us exactly what you need, and I am sure someone will be able to get it for you.

I’m not dismissing anything. that is why am here. I’m not pretending you are not having the issue.

Also, this sounds like the customer-centric version of the developer quote, “works on my machine”. I don’t take offence, but as a software developer / architect myself, your statement felt a little condescending to the people who have struggled with this issue for months.

you are stating you have steps to reproduce. as if 100% of the time it will reproduce it. I did those things you described and in your screenshots and it is not failing for me or multiple others I have asked. I am still in this thread asking you question so I can try to determine the probably one thing I am missing to make it fail. It may very well be some weird backend thing about accounts or tokens i have not thought of that has nothing to do with particular steps

@bigwheel on my Plex account, on the Windows app, if I click the “TIDAL” menu option, then the “MY TIDAL” tab, I get an error after exactly 30 seconds:

There was an unexpected error loading this library

My TIDAL account is linked because “MY TIDAL PLAYLISTS” shows my playlists correctly, and I can play music from those playlists.

I’m not sure what else I can provide with regards to reproducible instructions. As you said, for others it works, but for me and others in this thread… it does not.

One of my guesses is that an API call is timing out due to the size of the TIDAL libraries. Try adding lots of albums to your TIDAL test account and see how it fares.

I think the steps they are referring to are the combination of performing these steps to attempt to resolve the issue:

1.) Unlinking Tidal Account from my Plex Account
2.) Logged into Tidal website and changed password
3.) Confirmed PW change on Tidal Website
4.) Re-linked Tidal Account to Plex Account with updated password.

Combined with people experiencing this problem being able to reproduce the issues I screen capped earlier in the thread.

Along with these steps, I have reset cache in my iOS app, deleted and reinstalled my iOS app, rebooted my Plex server. I have disabled tidal integration, unlinked Tidal account, re-enabled Tidal integration and re-linked account. I cleared the browser cache on my iOS devices.

@SVXDAN83 I’ve tried all that. I even had to change my Tidal password so that Roon could get access to my Tidal account. They actually debugged their software using my Tidal account to track down an issue. They couldn’t find it… but they did try it.
