Tidal - new singles do not show up

… And just to be clear not only singles but entire albums.

@Drone-Flesh : Thanks for posting. My original response was going to be: No, it’s not related, because Tidal frequently takes down albums & re-establishes new versions of the same album with updated metadata from the labels. (this is my educated guess). This happens nearly every week on some Tidal album I have in my Plex library that all of a sudden won’t play. The fix is almost always this: do a new search for that album on Tidal via Plex (web app is how I usually succeed), and re-add title to “My Library,” then delete the version in my library that won’t play. Sometimes it even updates my song ratings for the newly added version. The new version may show a “featured artist” in the name of the song, or slight spelling correction, or “Album version” denotation, etc.

There was some talk of finding a (better) solution for albums that are removed from Tidal, but I suspect it never got implemented. But in my opinion, this is a pretty minor problem, and it’s easy to repair.

BUT, I think I replicated the problem for the EP you mentioned (Dumanic-Love Is Dead) here in the U.S., and this title does seem to qualify as the same problem with all the other missing new releases. My best guess is that the song titles or some other aspect of the release was slightly changed & re-uploaded to Tidal from the record label. For fun, is the EP still in your Plex library (but just won’t play)? If so, compare it to the version you see on Tidal now. Are there any differences in any way? (not just titles of songs, but also release date could apparently count). If the new version was released since Nov2021, there’s a chance the new version isn’t showing up in Plex, even though it’s available in Tidal & appears to have never left.

However, if you mean the album disappeared from your Plex library on its own, then it may be an unrelated issue.

@JavierVera: Thanks for coming back to the party. I appreciate having more posters to call out issues that I’m having, too. I see titles back to Nov2021 that still aren’t showing up for me.

@vanstinator: you’ve been the only Plex Employee to get any traction in getting this issue fixed (for a moment) back in Oct2021. I’m now at 150+ songs since Nov2021 that I can’t see in Plex that are available in Tidal. Any updates?

I keep seeing Tidal-related updates to Plexamp, so I know the team cares. Respectfully, I’m just surprised it’s taking so long to fix. Seems like an issue the plex ninjas would jump on because a new user would be confused if 50% of the tracks they look for aren’t available in 2022.

I’ve only recently linked Tidal and was confused as to why I had a playlist created on Tidal missing tracks via Plex. Much searching and I came across this thread which details how some new releases are simply not showing up via the Plex integration. Given it seems this was fixed last year and then broke again it’s hard to understand how such a basic feature could still be not working? What’s the story?

It is still a gamble, some artist’s singles appear within one day, others take way longer or don’t show up at all.

Any update @elan or @vanstinator?

@Drone-Flesh :
Hey … I checked & “Dumanic-Love Is Dead” is now viewable on Plex today.

Looks like the Plex ninjas kicked off a job to ingest some missing songs/albums yesterday (Mar 10, 2022). Out of my 200+ missing Tidal songs in Plex, about 50 of them became viewable & addable to my my library. Today, another 100+ are there. Maybe the needle is moving in the right direction. Cautiously optimistic. Still have 177 to go…

EDIT: And now I can listen to some of the Christmas music I wanted to add

Same on my side I can now see all the albums added months ago.
I hope it is a permanent solution

It looks really good again. Thanks a lot!
I have a playlist with 278 tracks new tracks and it is complete. Mainly singles released in 2022.

From another playlist, I see one track missing:
Nari & Milani, South Central - Mighty Game (Original Mix)

As indicated by yortdog in a previous post (thanks for the analysis), I do not know, if it is related, but again, I guess definitely worth to be analyzed too.

Update for current & future users:

All my 200+ missing tracks (released from Oct2021-Mar2022) were eventually able to be seen by Plex (added over a 3 day period between Mar 10-12), but one week later, the same problem arose. Only part of the new releases I wanted to add to Plex (from Friday 3/18 and 3/25 release dates) were ingested into the Plex viewable catalog. Bummer. I’m back up to 40 tracks playable in Tidal, but not viewable/playable in Plex.

Could someone at Plex kick off that magic job every week? We’re so close to a solution, I can feel it !!
Thanks

Yes, unfortunately the problem is still unsolved, I refuse to think that the job you refer to is done manually. There must be another explanation.
New releases from.the last two weeks are unavailable to play on plex

My most-recent 40 missing tracks are now viewable in Plex today. Sweet!

Same here. It seems that the heavy process is carried out every 15 or 20 days.

At my end it seems to go well, did not miss any new singles or albums yet. Usually the same or one day later available, which is ok. Today, for instance, the new song of Pink Floyd was already available via the Tidal integration in my Plex instance.

Pretty wild that this still hasn’t been fixed. i made my thread about this almost a year ago

what are we paying for every month, exactly?

It’s been working for me for the past few weeks. (since March 31, 2022). The Tidal tracks seem to be mostly there Friday morning of release date, then 100% completely viewable/playable in Plex by Saturday morning. I’d say they’ve got the routine working pretty well.

There are still issues with this. Kendrick Lamar’s latest is not showing in Plex. Also the 2022 Summer of Soul compilation by Questlove.

@vanstinator just fixed a long-standing bug which should result in a substantial improvement in this area in the coming week or so. big props to him for chasing down a really hard and low-level (also long-standing) bug.

Bumping again, same problem. Seems like the new process worked great for a few weeks, but I’ve got a handful of issues over the past 2 weeks with more missing (or partially missing) albums.

A few specific examples for me in the U.S.:

This album released June 3, 2022 (Steven Malcolm: Tree). Tidal says release date is June 24, 2022 (an incorrect future date?) Today is June12, 2022.
All currently playable in TIDAL:

Tracks I can see & add to PLEX:

This album released June 10, 2022 (Tauren Wells: Joy In The Morning)
Playable in Tidal, cannot see in Plex

This track was released June 10, 2022
Playable in Tidal, but not viewable in Plex:

Usually the Friday releases hit Plex before Saturday morning, but there’s enough delay here that it’s worth mentioning, especially since last week’s release is still missing.

Thanks.

** EDIT **
2 hours later, the Tauren Wells album was addable by searching in Plexamp, and I found it using the web player & pulling up the artist on Tidal (via Plex’s view). I’ll check back by tomorrow for the album & other singles, then update this post.

Update: All songs from my last post are now available in Plex. Tracks from release date Jun3 & Jun10 became available on Jun 15. Thanks!

I have the same problem for 3 albums from 2010 :

FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST BROTHERHOOD Original Soundtrack 1
FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST BROTHERHOOD Original Soundtrack 2
FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST BROTHERHOOD Original Soundtrack 3

(maybe they have been added only recently on Tidal and they will be added on Friday ?)

I have some tracks from these albums in a Tidal playlist, but they do not show up on Plex in the same playlist.
I also added one of the album to my Tidal favorite albums and it does not show up on Plex in the Tidal favorites albums.
I cannot find it with the search function on Plex.

Also tried on Plexamp with the same results.

What is interesting is that Plex does show the correct number of song for my playlist and the thumbnail of the playlist show the missing album on it but there are no tracks from the album in it. I’m guessing Plex is using the number of tracks and the thumbnail from Tidal directly and does not generate it.

EDIT : It has been a month and the album is still not avalaible in Plex

Seems I have the same issue with Stranger Things: Soundtrack from the Netflix Serias, Season 4
it was released on 1 July 22 and still does not show up in Plex.
