Unable to match media with Plex agent or manually update the server

Server Version#: 1.41.3.9314
Player Version#: 4.141.0

Hi there,

I’m experiencing this very bizarre issue that I can’t quite seem to wrap my head around. Up until recently, everything had been working fine running my server on Windows 10.

Now, however, when I attempt to match media using the plex agent, it no longer returns any results, instead just immediately displaying “no matches found.”

This is where it gets stranger: I thought I might just need to update the server, so I went to the general page in the settings and was met with a “Something went wrong. Please install manually.” Ok, click the link, but now on the download page for the server it just says “Something went wrong. The Plex Media Server list of apps is not available at this time.”

This happens regardless of browser, and I thought it might have been an issue with my router configuration, but no, I’m able to access the downloads on my phone and other computer connected to wifi just fine.

I can’t even access the forums on my primary computer anymore; on chrome specifically, I get a “NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID” whenever I try to log in. I’m assuming then this error involves my network configuration on my computer, but I can’t figure out what.

VPN isn’t enabled. Tried restarting both the server and my computer, disabling adblock, verifying Plex was allowed through my firewall and disabling any app I could think of that might be interfering; nothing.

I’ve attached my log below. Hoping someone with a little more knowledge of the inner workings here can help out.

Thanks.

EDIT: Attached the wrong logs, apologies. I’ve uploaded the correct ones now.

Check your date/time/timezone settings

If you mean on my PC, then everything’s correct there. Correct day, correct time, set to “Set time automatically” in Date & Time settings.

As you’re already checked the system time/date, it’s likely that something on your system is causing this. Do you have any network security software installed, maybe you’re on corporate network?

Other than a VPN (which is turned off) and the standard Windows firewall, no, not really anything else. And no, I’m not on corporate internet, just at home. It’s definitely something on my system though; everything wouldn’t be working fine on other devices on the same network if it wasn’t.

Check your DNS resolution for plex.tv.

Open up command prompt and run nslookup plex.tv. The IP address for plex.tv should match with here.

If it doesn’t match, change your DNS server to a public resolver like Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 or Google 8.8.8.8.

Just ran this command, the IP addresses match with the ones on that site.

Set my DNS server to the cloudfare resolver anyway and restarted my computer again, and voila. Can match again and I’m able to update my server. Thanks everyone, I appreciate it.
