Player Version#: Version 8.17
Since updating the app to version 8.17, my home screen has reset to its default state. It does not save my customizations such as unpinning items. Every time I return to the app, it goes back to default.
Still happening on 8.18
Sigh.
Co-sign on this. Thought I was going crazy unpinning the same things more than once.

I unpin many things and they keep coming back!
Happening to me as well 8.18.1
Same here on 8.19 on both my Apple TVs. I like to keep one list of pinned items on my big TVs, and a different list on my personal iOS and iPadOS devices. Very frustrating!
Can someone message the apple tv logs so i can make report?
Is there any update on this?
From what I am told it is has to due with where the memory for that is stored on device. Apple team is looking for a way to fix but I do not have an ETA.

Not sure if this will help. I have Plex on the AppleTV how I want it. I load the Infuse App, then go back to Plex app and now it does not remember what libraries I have pinned. I reset it back to how I want it, back to Infuse then back to Plex. Pinned libs messed up again.
There seems to be a conflict between Plex and Infuse in my situation.
Still broken … 
This behavior of Plex for Apple TV has already been reported on multiple occasions in 2022 and 2023. Only last link is active for comment.

can you expand on this at all? are you storing user preferences in the UserDefaults? i know apple limits user defaults storage to only 500kb on tvOS but that should be enough to remember the sidebar preferences, surely?
I’ve also been experiencing this for months and it’s very frustrating. Every time I open the Plex app my previously unpinned libraries are pinned to the sidebar. I unpin them repeatedly but to no avail. Another weird occurrence is that items from those libraries appear in the recently added rows on the homepage even where the PMS settings for those libraries have them blocked from appearing in the Recently Added on any homescreen.
I’ve even tried completely deleting and reinstalling the app but with no success. Hopefully this is still being worked on and a fix is close to release.
That recently added bug is really annoying. I have several libs for other content that I don’t want appearing on my recently added section. I have disabled it on PMS settings as well.
Same happening here, for months now. My bigger gripe is that my remembered tabs get reset with every app update on all 5 of my AppleTV 4K devices.
I also have this bug here with every new beta version of the Plex App on Apple TV.
This problem never happened until now on macOS, iOS, iPadOS or Android.
I am using an Apple TV 4 which is now called Apple TV HD by Apple.
