Server Version#: I don’t know this info because it’s been deleted
Player Version#:
I was having permission issues with my Plex which was installed on my QNAP TS-452A and I accidentally deleted the device from admin settings portal in plex. Now I cannot seem to be able to re-install it. I’ve deleted it from the NAS and re-installed it. I’ve restarted it, I’m not sure what else to do, nothing seems to work.
please get and install this QPKG. It will create the Plex Library share. This allows you to grab your logs manually through file station and generate a ZIP so we can see them.
Here are the logs from the plex logs folder. there are a bunch of other folders in there that look like they might also be helpful so let me know if you need any of those as well.
This should get you back into it without being signed into Plex.tv
If it still detects you, Sign out in the browser (start unclaiming everything… we’ll reclaim momentarily)
Close the in-cognito tab and open another fresh. connect again.
Now you should be into it properly.
It should also be telling you it’s unclaimed -OR- you need to sign in… Be certain to sign in with the right account
This should put you back in control and re-claim it. Doing so reattaches it to your Plex account.
Now, I would like you to go to Settings - Server- Network and disable IPv6. Everything on your LAN is IPv4, so IPv6 provides zero benefit other than make logs harder to read and can confuse PMS in certain cases externally.
Please do keep an eye on your total number of Plug-ins. PMS supports 10. I didn’t count how many are defined but I saw a bunch go by in your logs. PMS is configured to run at most 6 by default, These are the Framework, System, and agents, leaving enough for 2 actual streaming threads while matching is in progresss.
Okay trying this now. About the plug-ins…I don’t use them anyway so they could be deleted for the time being if you thought that is causing any of this or even attributing to it.
Also, Should I remove/disable IPV6 on my local machines as well?
These are a couple screenshots. I used WIN SCP to view the files in the plex folder on my QNAP and there are folders with dates from back in July 23rd 2017 and others that I wonder if it’s not cleared out and causing issues. Just a thought…
When your server is “signed out” it is “unclaimed” (not associated with a Plex.tv account)
Given your machine is being stubborn, we simply get a slightly bigger
Stop PMS
Using your access to the ‘Plex Media Server’ directory, delete file Preferences.xml
This will make it forget certain settings so you will need recheck all Server Settings after we’re done.
You will be greeted by the Welcome, Got-it, and Sign-in pages.
It will think this is a first-run scenario. It is not. We are “soft resetting” only.
Begin the first run setup wizard and start through it HOWEVER, DO NOT create any libraries. Skip this step .Your libraries are still there and will display when we are done
Continue through the setup wizard, clicking Finish at the end.
Now you will have access and full ‘ownership’ of it again.
If, in Step 2 above, you do not have the necessary access, use PmsLibShare if you have it. If you don’t have it, let me know and I’ll link it for you.
My friend…this has also ended with the same result. I thought for a second it wasn’t because it did take me into my user selection screen first but then when I entered my pin, it takes me straight to Cloud.
