Done.
Thank you.
I suspect the problem is to do with the scheduler in Plex Media Server when handling a huge number of scheduled recordings. Close to 1000
The fast case - 74 scheduled items
Feb 21, 2020 17:00:08.260 [0x14eb0a370700] DEBUG - Subscription: Starting with 74 grabs, scheduled 1 active ones preemptively.
The slow case - 973 scheduled items
Feb 21, 2020 16:30:15.208 [0x149f22370700] DEBUG - Subscription: Starting with 973 grabs, scheduled 0 active ones preemptively.
It took about 30 seconds processing the schedule
I am passing on the evidence to our development team to look into the scheduler
Well spotted. Actually, is there a way to easily delete all the scheduled recordings as I just noticed that there are a lot of shows that I added a long time ago that don’t automatically delete after the show or programs expire.
I believe you have select each but if it is a show/series then all will disappear for that series when you cancel the recording
@sa2000 I can see Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway 003 (103 & +1 if applicable) @ 7PM is listed as S15E8. Thought it should’ve been S16E1 as I think it’s a new season.
Just thought I’d mention it, in-case this is an issue and the numbering issue carries on
Always wondered this; is it better to re-tune a tuner via the HDHomeRun config page, or does Plex do a better job of it?
Also after retuning via its’ own config page, Plex Web/Server didn’t seem to update it’s enabled channel count?

Also would be nice to see which tuners in the same DVR “group” are missing channels compared to others. E.G. 192.168.1.6 is missing channel(s) 106 - BBC Four HD
Another piece of feedback would be to show how many tuners in use via other software (non-Plex related), if possible. So would be 2 tuners | 0 tuners in use. The in use count would include Plex and non-Plex users, if the tuner allows Plex to view that count.
Hello,
Do you need any other files or information? Just asking as I need to delete the file in my library, to get tomorrow’s episode to record due to the weird EPG numbering Traffic Cops has.
I have escalated this recurring issue - where season switch does not get detected and numbering carries on
Regarding Traffic Cops again
Is the name on the folder and episode files meant to be the first airing year for the show?
![]()
The year in the show folder is supposed to be the first air date year for that series. I have been trying to see if we can get the data changed so the BBC series has a 2002 year and channel 5 series has 2018 year
The impact of discrepancies in episode / season numbering is much reduced with Plex Media Server 1.18.8 which was beta released earlier today. See this forum topic for details
This seems to be a workaround to limit the impact of the wrong info from the guide provider in my view.
If the provider would hand over the correct episode number, this trick wouldn’t be needed or am I wrong? This is true for the cases, where the guide provider delivers a different episode number than the official network homepage, which is seen a lot throughout this forum.
But at least you don’t miss recordings due to this anymore…
So with this change i assume the provider is now going to give more posters for shows and also provide accurate original episode aired date
What about details about actors?
As above this just looks like a workaround to fix poor data, but now poor data is going to remain in the library
I assume doing a fix match on things will still work to get the proper data, although annoying to do after every recording
@sa2000 EPG errors -
Has gone from schedule, all good now
Traffic Cops, 005, 105 @ 8PM then 044 @ 9PM - 02/03/2020 - is now S5E20. Last episode was set as S5E10 so this is quite a jump forwards. Whilst this is probably still under investigation by the provider, other sources have it as S5E23 except Channel 5 themselves. So the numbering is getting closer
Episode failed to record. There was a transcoder error ![]()
There appears to have been some internet connection issues starting about 5 minutes before
Mar 02, 2020 19:53:41.506 [0x14c7d5032700] DEBUG - MyPlex: We appear to have lost Internet connectivity, resetting device URL cache.

Then the transcoder needed a codec and the download for that failed in same way as this pubsub request resulting in failure
This extract shows reliability of internet connections

So this shows the last interruption was about 20 minutes
Very strange, we were using the internet at the time and was plenty of free bandwidth available.
Would’ve thought Plex would at-least attempt a partial recording on 105 (HD) once connection was re-established.
Thanks for looking!
@sa2000 Traffic Cops - 09/03/2019 @ 8PM 005, 105 then 9PM on 044 - not marked as NEW. Also S05E24.
Horizon - 11/03/2019 @ 9PM 002, 102 - is this meant to be “Horizon”? My Freeview guide currently isn’t showing it as Horizon, but is Child of Our Time, with an episode name of Turning 20. Also might be S2020E1 for that show.
With channel 5 referring to the airing themselves as Season 8 Episode 21 instead of Season 5 Episode 24 - it is not an easy job to get this right. I have reported this to our provider
I will deal with your other issue later
