If you need anything else, I’m happy to grab and console info, logs .etc as the Episode on 30/8 is still there (blue block). I think I provided logs for the first time this issue appeared.
Thanks for looking into it.

This looks like an odd one to fix
Freeview OTA EPG has this as S16E156
Schedues Direct have it as S16E162
and TVDB has this as S16E163
Going by the description, E163 looks correct
Could you get me a view of the directory structures and files within them
^ All stored like that with their respective episode number being the difference
Before the EPG change, I do remember Plex storing the files like -
I don’t think the guide specifically said S52 (it might have), but maybe after some metadata matching before storing.
Thank you @Jakosaur

My Plex Server had Traffic Cops (005/105 8PM) set to record when I looked yesterday. Just looked now, it’s now gone from the schedule but still on the guide as NEW
. Not sure why it’s gone from my schedule -
Plex has scheduled the next NEW
episode, but then again this episode was scheduled and now isn’t -
Logs & EPG data - Traffic Cops - EPG Data.zip (23.9 MB)
UPDATE TO ISSUE - Only way to get it to record is by selecting This Episode
instead of All Episodes
. It did show it was recording on Channel 005
, but after shutting down Plex Web and loading back up now shows Channel 105
. But it scheduled it for recording.
Then cancelled the recording, and tried scheduling the series again with All Episodes
- still doesn’t schedule tonights’, only 2nd September’s Episode -
This should hopefully show me testing the above ^ Plex Media Server Logs_2019-08-26_12-27-45.zip (3.1 MB)
Might need to add some sort of text refresh if Plex decides to change the recording channel so a reboot of Plex Web isn’t required to see the change.
UPDATE 2 - some more weird things going on with Channel 5 005 / 105 & 044. Set a show to record as a test as I’ve been having issues with these channels - and it set the same show to record on all 3 channels every day (more than this screenshot). Channel 5 issues.zip (22.2 MB)
Thanks for passing that on. They seem to have been resolved except
Channel 018 More4 - Fri, Aug 30 @ 6:55PM - The Supervet S13 E2 is set to NEW
but isn’t NEW
.
Spoke too soon. Must have done a full guide refresh and they’re back on the EPG with the NEW
tag.
Thank you
Two things are going to happen.
We have a change that will come in to make sure we do pick the correct start year for a TV Show
I don’t have a date as to when this will be in place
Also for Gardeners’ World, our provider has now added season numbers
I understand from our provider is that the issue is with the sourced data and it is coming in to them with the wrong indication for New/Premiere and having to be manually adjusted.
Looks like Supervet is now 100% fixed! Thanks for passing that on!
Now a new issue-
Traffic Cops used to be aired by BBC One until Feb 2016 (https://www.thetvdb.com/series/traffic-cops)
Traffic Cops has aired by Channel 5 since then (https://www.thetvdb.com/series/traffic-cops-2018)
Had the episode last night Channel 005/105 8PM record - (metadata is S7E4) but after recording, Plex matched it to S5E5 (BBC version). I’m guessing it didn’t look at Traffic Cops (2018) metadata on TheTVDB as the EPG name is Traffic Cops but how it went from S7E4 -> S5E5 who knows.
Wondering if whether a NEW
tag is enabled on the airing, Plex maybe should look through the Originally Aired dates on TheTVDB too. Firstly on the show that matches the name exactly, and if not successful search similarly named shows on TheTVDB (for issues like this).
Plex Media Server Logs_2019-09-02_22-13-59.zip (2.7 MB)
If the dates on the EPG airing blocks are meant to be the original airing date for that particular episode, maybe something could be worked on to go through more TheTVDB show listings to find a match to the original airing date to avoid issues like this?
Thanks again.
Same issue again. Channel 5 version - S7E6 put into library as S5E8 of BBC version. Looking at the guide it says S5E8 but not sure if it changed on the guide to that after adding it to the library.
Sent a new issue on the form for what’s called “Britain’s Busiest Airport - Heathrow” on the new guide. Used to be called “Heathrow: Britain’s Busiest Airport” so Plex sadly missed an episode, guessing because of the name difference.
ITV 003 / 103 - 18th Sep 8PM - Says S5E2, should be S5E8. NEW
indicator is correct as the airing is a new episode, just wrong episode number.
Same thing might happen again on 25th September.
Thank you. I can see the error in the episode numbers and also the title discrepancy. I have referred it to our provider
Thanks for referring it on! Some weird things going on with the Channel 5 channels recently for me
Problem of recording the same episode on multiple channels has already been referred to our development team. This sounds like the same
This has now been corrected. Guide manual refresh will pick the corrections
Thanks for letting me know. I can see the episode on Wed 2nd October (Episode 10) has the correct name now!
The episode on tomorrow (Episode 9 | 25th September ITV 003 / 103 8PM) doesn’t appear to be on the EPG yet which is weird when the 2nd October episode is. The “ITV1 Network Programming” airing has the NEW
tag on it so that’s correct once the other metadata gets pulled in for that airing. Going to try a full refresh to see if it pulls it in. Don’t want an episode missed.
I did remove the old series (from Old EPG) & the new series (New EPG but wrong name) from the Recording Priority. Had to re-add it to have the correct name in the Recording Priority. It was already scheduled to record with the correct name though, but just wanted the correct name in the Recording Priority too.
Judging by other forum posts, this is a known issue and a fix won’t come in until after. When I try and select that that specific time slot that says “ITV 1 Network Programming” and set just that one to record, it records the one on right now as they all have “11/6/19”. Guessing there won’t be a way to record this unless I schedule it to record as it starts? @sa2000
The fix for the gaps that shows as Unknown Airing has now been deployed to the live service and I just checked the UK channels and we have zero gaps. The same issue led also to xxx Programming
A full EPG manual refresh would correct all the gaps and xxx programming erroneous entries
