Channel 005 / 105 - Monday Sep 30th 8PM - Traffic Cops doesn’t have a NEW tag and origanlly showed as 19/7/19 for the Series/Episode numbers. There’s never been an episoded aired for the first time on that date before. Now shows S5-E7 which is still wrong.
I am going to refer this to our provider - but there is inconsistent data
For example the channel 5 guide on their web site shows this as season 8 episode 8 and season 8 does not exist on thetvdb
Yeah, the info from Channel 5 itself is weird and I think is wrong. The last episode of the last series they marked as Episode 1 of the current season (7). At the beginning of the episode, they literally explained it’s the last episode in the series. Their numbering is one ahead of what it should be.
It’s a very confusing show after the transition to Channel 5. It’s had various names All New Traffic Cops, Traffic Cops: On The Edge & then back to Traffic Cops but yeah, TheTVDB info seems wrong (series numbers). I think the Plex EPG data might be correct, but NEW just isn’t set.
All New Traffic Cops (S1 & S2)
Traffic Cops: On The Edge (Should be S3, but TheTVDB says S1)
Traffic Cops (2018) (Should be S4 & S5, but TheTVDB starts at S6 & S7)
The info on Wikipedia has helped come to that conclusion.
Yeah, it’s a mess. Will be interesting to see what they do.
Didn’t actually recognise till today that TheTVDB skipped season numbers, so they aren’t in order. If they were, the current returned SSEE numbers from the EPG would match.
Channel 5 website already has started Season 8 apparently and is up-to Episode 3 on Monday!? Also the provider original available dates seem odd, but not surprised as this situation is a mess!
Fan account but seems to confirm the latest season started on July 29th which matches the first episode here (should be season 5 though). I’m trusting the episode data on TheTVDB, but their season numbers are wrong.
Also doesn’t help that Channel 5 didn’t carry on from the last season number the BBC did, so metadata matching is a pain when there’s now S4 & S5 of BBC & Channel 5 versions.
Not sure if the provider changed the EPG series and episode numbers to S19E7 but Plex matched it to Traffic Cops (2018), presumably as it was already in my library. I guess it would’ve matched the BBC version if I didn’t already have an episode in my library still.
Ok, thanks for the update. Just saying what I’ve noticed so far
Regarding Love Island that should say Love Island USA, it seems 2nd, 3rd & 4th October episodes currently named Love Island have had their NEW tag removed when they’re new episodes still. Just wrong name as you reported to them.
00:45AM, 01:00AM & 00:45AM in order from 2nd, 3rd, 4th October.
Not sure if this was intended by them, but something else I noticed.
Had The Apprentice record, show started in 2005. Plex matched to the 2008 version which is The Apprentice (IE) even though Plex DVR put 2005 in the folder name and there’s an option available with 2005. Also was a NEW episode so my suggestion for it to search for a matching original airing date would be applicable too.
The cause of the problem has been identified from my investigation for another forum thread. It is because we are not including the 2005 year in the metadata agent search at the end of recording. I have raised this with our development team to look into and consider adding the year in the search. Need to understand the implication for shows having a year of 2019 when not true.
Meanwhile - two options available,
The Plex Dance sequence should correct it (move out directory structure for “The Apprentice (2005)”, re-scan library, empty trash, move back and re-scan, or
Fix Incorrect Matching
The latter has added benefit in that it would help with future scoring when doing metadata searching for the show
Fixing the Incorrect match has seemed to work perfectly for the past episode (yesterday) - as I kept the 1st episode in my library. I plan to keep all episodes until the end of the series to prevent having to fix the match every-time.
It seems 2 episodes of Traffic Cops have been missed being recorded as I’m guessing they didn’t have NEW. 07/10/2019 & 14/10/2019. Next episode is on 21/10/2019. Channel 5 as usual.
Traffic Cops - date above - it has the NEW tag but Plex hasn’t scheduled it to record. It does have a different Poster Art so not sure if something has changed which is why it hasn’t been selected? Also for the 2 previous episodes maybe?
Had to schedule the series to record again.
23rd October - Traffic Cops - Channel 031 @ 4PM isn’t NEW
Not sure whether the team needs anymore data/logs on the issue, where the same episode is scheduled multiple times? Police Interceptors is the only show that seems to do this for me. Got it scheduled for the 23rd October, on 3 different channels.
For lost recordings I do need logs collected after the time when it should have started and in case it is lost after, also after the end of the episode.
The last time it happened they didn’t get lost. There were 3 files after they all recorded (in-regards to Police Interceptors appearing 3 times in the schedule).
In regards to the past 2 Traffic Cops episodes not recording at-all (not even in schedule). I wasn’t even aware of the issue until I checked TheTVDB on when to expect a new episode. Only just noticed the change in Poster Art so thought something might have changed.
