Try [IP address]:32400/web
So IPv6 didn’t do anything.
IPv4 attempted to connect, but I received the same message as above.
I see I have an IPv6 address, Link-local IPv6 address, IPv6 DNS servers, IPv4 address, and IPv4 DNS servers address.
None seemed to work. Any suggestions?
For initial setup/claiming:
Do not use quickconnect, a FQDN, DDNS, etc for initial setup/claiming.
If you are not using RFC-1918 addressing or are on a different network, you will have to establish a SSH tunnel to the NAS, to make you appear as a local user.
Would you please provide further instructions here? I’m not well versed with servers.
Where do I find my RFC-1918? The only address I have that is close is the 192.168. I do not have the other three. Should I? The 192.168 is my IPv4 address.
I know that I’m on the same network as my Synology because I am able to access it. It is hard wired into my modem. How do I find the specific address for it?
You don’t need to worry about the RFC nor IPv6 addresses. Just use the IPv4 address of the server that starts with 192.168. Go to http://192.168.x.x:32400/web replacing the x.x with the remainder of the server’s IP address and see if that gets you there. If you’re not able to get to it, trying pinging it from within a command prompt window. If you can’t ping the server, you have some sort of networking issue.
If I may add,
Synology completely changed how that all works in DSM 7.
They broke it.
When you want to go to an app on your NAS, it requires you to go out to the internet first and loop back in through their servers.
The best workaround is to use the LAN IP directly then set a bookmark in your browser toolbar
Login to the NAS.
Control Panel → Info Center → Network
or
Control Panel → Network → Network Interface
That did it. Thank you! Resolved.
Plex is currently taking some time to get setup here, going on a few minutes now. Hopefully it should not require too much extra time.
