This worked for me, thanks for the tip

Hola buenas tardes; Instale DSM 7 y al ver que no me funcionaba plex , lo desinstale y ahora ya no soy capaz de instalarlo , ayuda por favorrrrr

Installed version 1.21.0-3744 and all is working fine. Following instructions, Library conversion was i bit tough but in the end, everything’s working like a charm !

Would like to thanks Plex team for the effort.

TO ALL READING HERE.

  1. A DSM 7 bug has been found which impacts migration.
  2. I am currently confirming a work around
  3. When confirmed, I will write a letter to Synology of the bug, it’s manifestation, and work around discovered so they may reproduce and repair.

I cannot emphasize enough that migration procedure must be followed.
DSM 7 is very raw at this point. I account for almost all cases in the existing package.

This new bug is one case I did not expect. (their GUI is broken)

@ChuckPa Can you change the post that has the download links in it to reflect the most current version? I ask because the internal version notice (web interface) is not functioning properly.

I installed the initial build you posted and it is still working great so far, but given that both DSM7 and this plex build is beta I prefer to keep checking back for bug fixes etc.

@tx.canyon

I read and understood every steps. I managed to get it installed and running, but there seems to still be something wrong with it (probably a bad migration of some sort), since every time I attempt to connect, I get the feared " No soup for you! You do not have access to this server”.

I suspect I might have to reset something somewhere and start over reconfiguring the server (which is fine with me), but I’m not sure even where to start to get it back up and running :-\ (Or maybe it is the migration bug you mentioned in the previous post — in which case I’ll be patient and I’ll wait for the workaround to be posted) Any suggestions?

Is there possibility of a 32.bit version, since i only updated to DSM7 on ds214Play, wich generically only runs 32bit, and only will install pure 32bit Apps/progs.
Regards and great job ! (im just a diletant on hardware and programing)

(Stupidly i removed PMS directly after installing DSM7)

@Lenmak

There are no 32 bit Intel builds for DSM 7 in our build system.

I will speak to chrisallen and check on this.

If I am also interested since I have a Ds214play, unconsciously unconsciously uninstall PMS And of course now there is no compatibility

Hi Chuck,
as agreed I return to you, after 2 days of continuous plex work, I was able to make a huge 4K and… everything works perfectly with the version: PlexMediaServer-1.21.0.3744-d87012962-aarch64_DSM7
I guess now I don’t touch anything until the final version of DSM7 and therefore of the new Plex version
thanks again for the crazy work that was done so that one can again enjoy Plex

Thanks again to you and those who worked on it

I realized today that I can’t find the Plex files.
They are not in the “Plex” folder.

In the Plex folder I only have the media folder.

Wo sind also die anderen Dateien unter DSM 7.0?

In the folder I still had a folder named “Media” where all files were inside.
That’s how I read it in the manual.

How exactly can I save the system files now?

I’m sorry, I must have mispronounced myself.

Before, I always had the folder “Plex Media Server” with all the plugins, database etc.

I saved this folder always and need it to restore.

How should I make a backup now.

So if I ever have a system failure, are all data gone?

So if there was a lightning strike and everything on the NAS is gone.

Then I can’t back up these files like database etc.

And how can I add plugins or is that no longer possible?

If I may add here,

This is Forum Preview stage (aka… Alpha)
This is not yet Beta.

Sometime around Beta but before Final (release) form,
I hope to have completed the means by which you can create backups of your PMS data.

I am working with Synology to provide this.
We (Synology and Plex) are a bit overloaded with everything happening in DSM 7 public beta but will get to our desired goal.

Respectfully, please do not panic at this time.
I am well aware of the capabilities needed in final form for the package.
