New EPG and release

I replied to your forum topic requesting specific detail of the setup and issue
See TV guide and recording issue - #2 by sa2000

As of today I no longer see duplicate episodes in the recording schedule. I’ll see what happens over the weekend when this week’s episode is broadcast 4 times [refers to my post about BBC Click Episodes - New EPG and release]

Further to my earlier reply New EPG and release - #548 by sa2000 the issue with the ā€œNewā€ indicator for ITV on Emmerdale and Coronation Street has now been referred to our provider

I spoke too soon. I just did a manual guide refresh and all of the individual broadcasts (of the same episode) have now appeared in the guide. So I will be deleting duplicates again :frowning:

Not sure if these are supposed to be fixed (the invalid S/E has been removed from Neighbours/Home & Away

However, H&A now has an aired date of the current day
So Plex shows todays episode as aired 16/08, this should be 11/07
If anyone records and gets metadata from tvdb, this could show spoilers as the UK is about 5 weeks behind

Posting here because of visibility (reports via the form don’t seem to be getting any resolution for me). Next week’s episode of Restaurant: Impossible has the wrong episode number. It’s listed as episode 7, but it will actually be episode 6. Episode 5 is airing this weekend.

@sa2000 after a manual update, I’m seeing the new tag on Neighbours next week - so progress is being made

that is good to hear. I am still waiting for official confirmation that the work has been completed on this

Ok, so I have another issue with my lineup on Cartoon network 48/848. Show ā€œDream Corp LLC (2016)ā€ shows up as ā€œDream Corp LLC. (2019)ā€. Looks like I’m recording every episode that airs of this show now. What it seems like is any show that does not match a correct year, means that I’ll end up recording every single episode that airs.

Any update on when this will be fixed?

Yes since the EPG change poster data is very poor compared to previous
I do not know where this data comes from. I do know it was better previously
Sadly this is another backward step for the Live TV / EPG

On a positive note I do like the new Mac and Windows apps

This continues to be a big issue
I tried to record easy rider last week and Plex only recorded the first 60 mins and not the rest of the movie after the 5 min break
This week the show was repeated and the EPG only offered to record the break 5mins
These issues have been going on for weeks now and is very frustrating

sa2000, thanks but that’s not my issue.

When inputting the EPG data, Plex says it’s seeing 72 Channels - 17 enabled.
Why can I not get more than 17 channels enabled. When I select to receive all channels and then try to the selection, I’m still only seeing guide data for 17 channels.
What’s stopping the PMS from presenting the guide data for more of the EPG channels that are coming from the XML server. It looks to me like at least 26 channels are in the guide listing.

A further point: I’m able to receive EPG data for the Sydney region and the Wollongong/Illawarra region. I would like this because I also am receiving TV coverage from both regions and, on occasions it’s very handy to be able to record programs aired in the Wollongong/Illawarra that don’t feature on the local Sydney feed. Desirably, it should be possible to merge the two EPG feed data streams to maximise the effectiveness of the Plex TV & DVR functionality.

So, this seems to be the only thread that anyone from Plex replies on. @sa2000 are you the only person working on the dvr issues? Still not able to series record, one reply to my post and then subsequent posts ignored. Seriously regretting paying for Plex and looking at getting a chargeback on credit card.

It’s simply not good enough, existing customers have been left with a broken product. New ones, like me, are simply left with worthless software. Don’t advertise a DVR if you can’t supply it.

Likewise, I purchased Plex just before Christmas last year for this purpose as I had been using Netflix and Amazon Prime since retiring my Windows Media Center setup a few years ago and realised I was missing out on a bunch of Movies I’d not seen over to festive period.

As such I’d also like to know if there any news on being able to search for Movies based on the actors in them? I am really missing this feature.

I think I found a new bug. Not sure this is the right place to put it.

My refresh locks up when the DVR has more channels enabled then actually exist. This seems to happen when a provider stream is no longer available. I’m using Xteve 2.0 to connect to my DVR.
At first I had delete the dvr and start over. I have found that I can also go thru a multi step process of selecting a single channel, then rescaning, then selecting all channels again. This is not ideal and Plex should handle the change on it its own

I mainly watch and record movies with plex
I have noticed since the switch to broken Tivo the amount of movies found in upcoming movies is completely wrong
I am shown in UK 6 movies for Monday and of these six four of them are tv shows not movies
By comparison Emby has over 60 Movies listed for Monday
I have done a refresh etc etc
The first pic is from Emby just a snapshot of the first 30. The second and third screenshot is ALL the movies listed by Plex IE in reality TWO

Solved the problem…with a little help from my son. I had a problem navigating the Manage Channels interface.

The issue of movies / episodes split by a news break and ending up with only first part being recorded is still with our provider to look into. A temporary solution was suggested in the forums with setting to addiextra 60 minutes or what is needed at the end of recordings
