The bulk of the work on fixing issues has been for the Terrestrial OTA lineups. There are very few UK users with Satellite.
Do you have a list of all the missing channels ?
With respect to Sony channels, there have been freeview changes recently with some channels moving and getting renamed - so would need exact channel names.
My initial tests setting up a library with dummy file with that path did result in mapping to “The Apprentice (UK)”
So I will need to get debug logs zip after a recording is completed and the identification goes wrong
Yep, there are plenty of satellite (and cable viewers) in the UK but I’d imagine due to encryption they’re all just using the box provided by the system provider so even those with those systems will be using Freeview for Plex.
These are the additions/changes to the Freesat line-up that I’m aware of, there may be more but not of channels I’m interested in so I’ve attached a list of the current full channel line-up.
Freesat channel additions and name changes -
As mentioned, on your side the Freesat West Midlands guide data currently has channel 102 BBC2 HD mapped to BBC2 Northern Ireland HD and not the England broadcast data.
Full list of Freesat channels as of 26/9/19 in attached txt file. Freesat Channels.txt (3.9 KB)
It’s not the channel encryption that’s the issue, all the channels available on Freesat are unencrypted, in my opinion it’s that there’s no easy to use commercial hardware solution, such as HDHomerun for FTA, to access them.
I’ve used a Telestart Digibit Twin Sat>IP tuner https://www.amazon.de/dp/B016XL584C/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_-JBNDbVM9JPV9 which has been faultless so far. The difficulty has been getting it to work with Plex, Sat>IP is an unsupported feature of Plex sitting in the Community Supported Tuner category - Community Supported Tuners | Plex Support …although I’ve ended up using the app TVHeadend as a proxy to make the available channel list in Plex manageable…now if Plex added the ability to utilise channel bouquets that wouldn’t be necessary
Yep matches to IE version again for me (as it has some for the past couple of seasons). @sa2000 just let me know if you need anything from my logs too…
I have reproduced the problem. For some reason the UK series got a bad score from one of our services which I think what resulted in the IE initial score getting bumped up by 1.
I will be discussing this with the team that manages the system which I suspect to have the issue
I understand now that “Fix Incorrect Match” does affect future scoring - so that would be a better option. The more users do it the higher chance of scoring getting better and leading to the right series being matched. The issue here was that we do not include the originally aired year for the show when trying to match at the end of recording - this may be deliberate - I have referred it to our development team
Ah OK, no problem - have gone down the ‘Fix Incorrect Match’ route instead. What I find confusing in there is the top two entries (both scoring 100) are just called ‘The Apprentice’, with 2008 and 2005 start dates. However the 2008 one is clearly the Irish one, but (IE) only shows up when it’s selected. For shows in multiple countries it would be good if the country could also be shown to make it easier to pick the right one. Once 2005 selected it does indeed show (UK) after it, but not in the Fix Incorrect Match list. Hopefully this would encourage more people to pick the correct one.
Have newly setup DVR using a Hauppage Win TV Quad card. After a scan I successfully get 130+ channels including HD ones but seem to be missing Dave on Channel 19.
I have tried scanning with Sandy Heath (the nearest transmitter to me) and doing a full frequency scan on all transmitters but it still does not show up.
Is there something on Plex’s end>
