Newly created music library access issue, new to plex and need pointers please

Server Version#:1.40.5.8921
Player Version#:

Hi, I’m new to Plex and looking to some pointers please - I am using a Synology DS224+ and have previously successfully uploaded by Photo collection (18k files) to plex but I went ahead and loaded up my music collection (37k files) and Plex has been chewing on that lot for the last few days and is still going- I’m not really worried that it is taking an age to process but I have 1 issue and 1 question.

My issue is that if I try to accessing the music library (just via the plex app from the synology desktop so same version as the server) it spins the wheels and comes back with “something went wrong an unexpected error occurred”. If I use the app on my phone is comes back as currently unavailable - having shown the library as an option.

Quite happy to read through logs if someone can give me a pointer where to start with them please.

My question is quite possibly related, I’m surprised how long it has been chewing on the files but after the success with photos I loaded the whole lot up in one go, yes I appreciate that might have been foolish, the box has been hammering away and is now saying it is generating loudness data - I appreciate my access problem could be as simple as the library isn’t ready for access but I am wondering if there is somewhere I can see what is has processed so I can gauge what is left to do perhaps? Are the processing stages documented so what happens after loudness?

Thanks, pointers appreciated - worst case I drop the library and start from scratch but would really like to understand what’s going on before I threaten it with my movie collection.

Just spotted how to upload the logs in case anyone is kind enough to point out anything obvious! Thanks

Your logs are showing it is processing loudness for music files

I would advise a few things at this point.

  1. Let the music finish ingesting.
  2. Review to make certain it all matched. (Your naming is not per Plex naming rules – See below)
  3. Make certain you have allocated & room for more

You really need Plex standard naming and structure for best experience.
I bit the bullet and now, with my automation in place, everything incoming is always perfect and nothing ever missed.

There’s a lot of info in the support pages. Good examples too.
Plex is generous about naming but a few basics are needed/required.

And then, to augment your syno:

Fantastic thank you for the assist, I will be patient
