1. It’s pre-official QA testing. PMS seems OK but still might have issues functionally

2. Packaging wise — SOLID!

LAST question since we have probably sorted everything out.
What should i choose when I install the upgrade? Does it matter? It’s just logs
If I install the preview should i choose “pms internal location”? I suppose that’s the new hidden pms folder?

My installation seems to have worked. Plex still works fine. The Plex is empty and only have the Migration.log file. But now I just can’t really see where the files should be.

But my only main problem seems to be for when I’m adding new files to my TV Shows Library, Plex doens’t automatically anymore when they are added.
It is updating my movie library automatically when I add a movie to my movie folder.
So it is TV Shows with season and all that doesn’t automatically update. I have to manually choose Scan Library.

Does anybody maybe have an idea to solution?

I just followed the instructions to update Plex for DSM7. There are two problems I still have.

1. 
   Plex can not recognize my server. This is on PC in chrome.
   2)When I am on android on the app I can click on these libraries anyway. I see all my files are there, I can navigate to specific episodes and even hear the theme music playing. But when I press play I get the error "There was an error navigating to the specified item. Please make sure you are connected to the internet and try again.

Please advise on how to solve these issues. I have the same problems on my Nvidia shield (tube) which makes me suspect that is is on the server side, but I’m not very knowledgeable on this topic.

After migration is complete, the “Plex” shared folder will be empty. I explained it all here in the documentation.

When you installed DSM 7, DSM 7 overwrote the custom Notify buffer size setting you had.

You need set it again.

There are multiple answers here

1. The default condition (keep current) tells me to not touch anything
2. Use PMS internal storage means "Write to the Logs directory under Plex Media Server
3. Tell PMS where to write means that you want your logs somewhere else. Maybe you want all apps to put their logs in a common shared folder ?

I guess this was asked before but after the migration is completed successfully, can we safely remove the Plex shared folder (that now only contains the Migration.log) as well as the old ‘plex’ user?

I might have an interesting situation on an older DS214.
After migrating to DSM7 I removed all previous Plex version folders & users (or tried to), then tried a clean install.

Unfortunately I didn’t manage to avoid issues. With both versions I tried Plex tries to start, but stops soon after.

• PlexMediaServer-1.24.1.4931-1a38e63c6-armv7hf_DSM7.spk - this one didn’t even create the PlexMediaServer folder
• PlexMediaServer-1.24.2.4955-d26a2afaa-armv7hf_DSM7.spk - this one created the folder, but seems to start with a blank sqlite3 database.

The database files don’t seem to be corrupted, but just empty:

Is there maybe a DB initialization script that didn’t run? (and that I could run manually).

Update #1: I just noticed the otherwise obvious “Couldn’t copy file” error - I guess it’s a leftover from a previous install. I’ll clean that up & retry.

Update #2: Ran an ls after uninstalling & rebooting - doesn’t seem to be old leftover files:

Update #3: After copying the db template via:

So I’ve had a few things happen with the migration. My first try I missed the Uninstall step and ended up with a new server with the same name. I used the migration script posted and did a un-install, re-install with claim token to fix that.
It was working for a day or so, but then stopped responding. I stopped it in Package manager, but then it wouldn’t start back up the log showed database corruption errors. I tried the database repair process with no luck and ended up restoring a database from before the update. It started up then and re-converted the database I believe.
It was working again for a day or so, but today I’m getting database corruption errors again in the log:

I have been trying to solve this problem for a week now. I did the manual install, I removed everything from plex of my NAS (even with SSH to manually take off everything that was left).

I can install my server manually. I can even claim it with the token. My plex.tv account will see that the server has logged in as I can see it in Authorized Devices.

However, plex.tv doesn’t see any servers. And if I log in with the same account I used to claim the server, when I log in on port 32400 on my server directly, it tells : Not Authorized, you do not have access to this server.

What am I supposed to do with this?

Can you provide me with the log files?

I looked at your account on Plex.tv

I see “storinator” which was recently deleted. I don’t see any active server registered to your account.

This means one of two things:

1. PMS can’t connect to plex.tv
2. PMS is connecting to a different account

Your logs, collected about 2 minutes after startup, will tell me what is happening (it logs in during that startup)

Also. which DSM 7 package version are you using?

I cannot find the plex log file. The location specified here does not exist : Where is the Plex Media Server data directory located? | Plex Support

I see no shared folder for Plex (I had to delete the old one called Plex on DSM6 because it was impossible to read/write in any way after the upgrade. I’m trying to fresh install)

As for Storinator, that is the one I’m trying to get to join again with a fresh install because I wasn’t able to repair the old instance

But I can guarantee that it’s the correct account (confirmed upon install with the token. You get a message with the account that has successfully been joined)

And I can see him in authorized access. As for connection to plex.tv, that is also tested and it’s fully capable to connect to it through the network…
