Samsung Plex app not working

I have 2 Samsung TVs and as of a couple weeks ago, neither one is able to connect to the servers on the Plex app. It works on my phone and tablets in the house so I know it’s not my wifi. It’s something specific to the TV. Anyone else having this issue or know how to fix it?

I am exactly like you, it does not work for me on any Samsung Smart TV, I have the server installed in a Qnap for a year and now it does not let me access the TV interface.

You will need to buy a box like Apple TV or Roku

Same here on smart hub.
Since like 5-6 days the app stopped loading.
I reinstalled the app and now the app is starting but I cannot login - when trying to, it immidiately says “Login Failed” without even prompting for anything.

The smart hub app is not (and has never been) an officially supported app – it may be time to buy a Roku or similar because eventually, things will change enough that older, unsupported clients will stop working.

I have a Samsung smart TV and used the app last night with no problem. I hope it doesn’t go away, I love it!

If your Samsung is 2016 or newer (samsung-tizen) then this thread isn’t about the Plex app that works on your Samsung :slight_smile:

In the same boat here. The same thing happened about a year ago, and I believe it was fixed with a server patch. Hopefully that comes through again - I love the ease of using the smart features and only 1 remote!

I fix this problem by reverting plex server to older version 1291.

Did reverting the server to 1291 fix connectivity with Samsung Smart Hub for you? I am having no such luck. I have just reverted and still nothing.

Admin - please don’t lock this thread as you have the others, we may find a solution as we did in May.

Threads are automatically locked after three months of inactivity, because that typically indicates the issue no longer exists.

There are other threads touching on the issue, and they have been locked as the Smart Hub PLEX app is not officially supported.

The two threads that were closed were at least three or four years old. Any solutions posted in them would no longer apply.

While I suspect that this issue for smart hub-based Samsung devices will not be addressed, I don’t foresee this thread being locked anytime soon.
