You forgot to check the boxes for Full Control and/or Apply to this folder, sub-folders, and files
@vertigo8u I have finally had a chance to look over your logs, and I do not believe there is an error in PMS. In one of the provided logs the client is explicitly requesting subtitle burn in and in the other it is not. Did you use the same client for both sets of logs? If so, was the value of Settings->Player->Burn Subtitles the same in both instances? I am working on improving subtitle burn in, however in the mean time we recommended setting this to “Only Image Formats” for the low powered CPUs found in Synology devices.
Hey Chris
Corp. PEBKAC reporting for duty.
Was that subtitle/dual client msg for me?
If so, Iwould never have requested subtitle burn in on anything - that sounds like something that would stuff up my files to me.
I though i only posted one log .zip folder? (and one screengrab prior to that) (reason i know is that I thought i was pretty clever when i worked out how to compress and zip my log to post last night)
I used the same browser on the same PC for all of the things Ive done with plex so far, if there was an option to select subtitle burn in on the Plex mobile client, theres a chance i could have bumped it but only in error. I can try to check …
SORRY @vertigo8u@chris_decker08
I’m new to all this, forums and handles also (had to look that @… up)
so i apologise for trampling all over your conversation. It took me about three hours to work out it had nothing to do with me.
please forgive my intrusion and poor etiquette.
kind regards
Hi Chuck
Thankyou mate. followed that advice.
Did it once and then realised that ‘Stop’ means actually go to package centre and select stop from the plex dropdown, and not just close plex window.
in the meantime, made a total d@*k of myself by interrupting someone elses thread and had to apologise again. SORRY @vertigo8u@chris_decker08!!
So im waiting for the ‘task completed’ email to come in and ill report back.
please dont kick me out… I’m a slow learner but im trying.
so reloaded and plex opened.
Still got ‘movie’ libraries referencing docco folders. but the libraries are there i think.
For some reason it has opened a photos library - which i never ever had.
it still looks alot like Plex has just been given the keys to the entire NAS and just created libraries wherever it found media.
Is that normal?
I would like to inform the dev team that the latest version of Plex Media Server, “PlexMediaServer-1.32.8.7639-fb6452ebf-x86_64_DSM7” for a Synology NAS, which was recently released, shares a common issue with the previous version.
The problem lies in the disappearance of the Plex icon within the Synology ecosystem, including the dashboard and the main screen of the apps. Despite my thorough search, I have been unable to locate it anywhere.
Although Plex is still functioning, the absence of the icon is concerning.
I kindly request your guidance and assistance in resolving this matter.
I am on “PlexMediaServer-1.32.8.7639-fb6452ebf-x86_64_DSM6” and am having an issue with the “Continue Watching” feature. It seems to be bugged for me as it is no longer working. I have many movies that I have started and not finished and none show up since update. I checked my settings and I have “Maximum number of Continue Watching items which will appear” set to 40. Not sure what I can do from my side to fix this. Any ideas or maybe fix is coming next update? Thanks!
P.S. I am talking about the “Continue Watching” from the Plex “Home” tab. I no longer have a slide of movies that I can jump back into.
Whare is the control panel, I can find nothing labelled control panel>
I can go into settings but their is nothing their relevant
I can go to edit library’s but none of the options you speak of are their
Im sorry but I don’t understand your reply on the Plex webpage that load when you open plex from the Synology NAS their is no button link or anything labelled control panel I have looked every ware yet the plex “help” for Plex not seeing the folder containing media is this:
Set access to your media share(s) by performing the following steps:
Open Control Panel and select Shared Folder
Select the share which contains your media and click Edit
Click the Permissions tab
Change the dropdown from Local Users to System internal user
Check the Read/Write checkbox for the PlexMediaServer user
Click Save to confirm the new permissions
Repeat steps 2-6 for each share you want Plex Media Server to access
So my question is how do I open “control Panel” as mentioned in the Help “1. Open Control Panel and select Shared Folder”
