@rfehr613 Was it under the Offline Devices settings?
Yes, thatās it. Settings>Manage subscription>Offline devices
So, I think, I have resolved about as many issues with this as I believe will be possible thanks to @rfehr613 feedback
At the moment, I have everything working and integrated except for the contents of a Plex playlist that contains Tidal songs. This playlist was created while I was having the ā30 second sampleā issue. I had hoped that this would just refresh and work once the integration was fixed, but that does not seem to be the case. I created a new Plex playlist, however, and was able to add Tidal songs and have their full length be reflected in the playlist.
I did a combination of basically everything suggested in this thread to fix everything. To the best of my memory, I did the following:
1.) Launch Plex from Web Browser
2.) Un-authorize all affected devices. In my case, I just did all the devices I had authorized. There werenāt too many and I was sick of dealing with this problem.
3.) Deleted Plex iOS Apps from my affected devices⦠iPads and iPhones.
4.) Un-Linked Tidal From My Plex Account
5.) Logged into Tidal Website and browsed to Offline Devices and cleared any and all devices in that list
6.) Went back to Plex and Re-Linked / Authorized Tidal with Plex
7.) Waited 15 minutes
8.) Browsed media sources list and selected Tidal from Plex Web Interface. I was now able to see all my Tidal Content⦠Recommendations, Playlists and Libraries
8.) Re-installed Plex on my iPhone and logged back in
9.) Was now able to see all Tidal content on my iPhone. Repeated process for iPad. This also worked
As I mentioned previously, once these steps were completed, everything was working on these devices save for the one playlist I attempted to create while Tidal was stuck in ā30 secondā mode. I created a new playlist and added Tidal content to it and was able to play the content from THAT playlist on all devices.
Hopefully, this process will definitively fix everyoneās problems. Quite frankly, I think it is RIDICULOUS to have to go through all this to get a simple feature working again, but I guess it is what it is.
If you have managed to resolve your issues, that is great news. For the purposes of Plex staff reading this, the detailed fix provided by @SVXDAN83 wonāt work for me. I get the issue on Apple TV as well as my iPhone: the Apple TV is not classed as an offline device to Tidal and it doesnāt display on the Tidal website.
FWIW, Iām not home and havenāt been able to test on my AppleTV yet
Ooo - fingers crossed it works for you there too.
Not getting my hopes up
Iām amazed any of that worked!
Iām still struggling with 30 second preview on web browser and Shield. The good news is I found that I found Tidal offers a very good veteran discount thatās better than subscribing through Plex. So Iām on that. Integration to Plex, not so much.
@eif999 Iām not familiar with the Shield⦠are you able to delete the Plex app from it? On the web browser side, did you try deleting your web browser sessions from the āauthorized devicesā in Plex?
Not to beat a dead horse because I know itās been discussed / suggested already many times in here, but the trick seems to be clearing out any and all possible cached / authenticated sessions and resetting them.
I hope this helps since it seems that Plex has once again abandoned trying to assist in this thread!
Well Iām at work. What I did to at least fix my Android was unlink account, go into Plex and delete all linked devices, change Tidal password, then link, log into Android. It worked. Will check shield tonight
Worked on Shield as well. I not only logged out but I uninstalled and reinstalled on shield. Yeah! Itās be really nice if Plex would just post some simple instructions for us suffering for weeks
Thank you for the tip. This also worked for me. Good thinking.
Whoop-de-doop⦠I have solved the issue that is affecting me! Only taken 6 months and zero (proper) assistance from Plex!
So⦠if you are having this issue, log into Tidal and go to your āAlbumsā list, and sort by āArtistā. Then, you need to click on every single album to see whether the album has been removed from Tidal by the distributors. Eventually, you should reach a point where the āMY TIDALā tab starts to work.
Personally, I think this issue is a combined issue for both Plex and Tidal. Tidal should handle the removal of albums better, while Plex should have better detection when it encounters an album where it cannot retrieve the metadata for it. I believe it is when Plex is retrieving the metadata āper albumā from Tidal that this failure is occurring.
Hopefully, this will help somebody else
I had the same issue on a Samsung A90. It never worked, the only thing I can say is that the app was transferred from my Samsung S7Edge which worked fine, I used the transfer wizard so this wasnāt a virgin install. I managed to fix it by doing the following:
- Use the delete all data option in my apps setting of the phone for the Plex App.
- Uninstall the app from the phone
- Use File Commander app to ensure all app data was gone from the file system of the phone (it was)
- Remove the device from within Plex authorised Devices in the web app
- Re-link my tidal account to Plex from within the Plex web interface
- Reinstall the app back on my phone and log back in.
All working
Graham
So when will this be fixed by Plex? This is ridiculous to pay a subscription for a service that simply doesnāt work!!
Yeesh. I wish I would have read this thread before trying all of this out. Having many of the same issues after linking a brand new TIDAL account. Iāve overcome some of the issues, but still having others.
This is beyond absurd. Iām cancelling my Tidal subscription now. Worst customer service in the history of ever.
Well⦠This doesnāt look too promising⦠Chiming in that I am also suffering from Tidal being coy and playing preview mode in plex. I think I wasted my money on this Tidal subscription. It worked for all of a single day, and now it seems to be permanently broken. If this thread is to be believed, the functionality is buggy as hell and cannot be relied on at all, and the folks at plex/tidal arenāt doing much to resolve whatever is causing us all these bugs and failures to integrate.
I finally went back to online services, un-linked my TIDAL account and then re-linked it. It took a couple of minutes, but finally everything started to work. I know I had tried that before, but there was a server update in-between attempts, so maybe just having PMS restart was part of the solution. I would give this another try if you havenāt.
