Tidal - new singles do not show up

Is this the official “plex is missing something from tidal” thread? I noticed that Say Anything - Is a Real Boy is missing random tracks (1, 7, 11, 13, 15, 17, 20).

is this something that’s actively looked at? is there a better way to report this issues? @elan

Thanks

Just came to post that the new self titled album by Pool Kids is also not showing up in Plexamp despite being on Tidal. Is this the right place to post this?

I have found a fair amount of artists and albums that are missing content. I hope this is the right place to report them, and that the amount of related content missing will help track down the root cause.

Are there any updates on this issue? Is there a better way to report missing content?

My vote is to continue to report missing content here, but there must be a bigger issue behind-the-scenes.

A few comments:

  1. It seems that every time Plexamp is updated, a TIDAL issue has been updated or fixed. That means the Plex team must be interested in continuing the relationship, right?

  2. I had 2 missing albums finally appear on Plex recently:
He Is Legend: Endless Hallway Release Date: Nov11, 2022, Available on Plex: Jun17, 2023.
Planetshakers: Greater (Live) Release date Sep2, 2022, Available on Plex: July16, 2023

  3. It appears most of my missing 242 tracks in Plex are indie labels. I wonder if it’s a distribution issue? It could be random, but I’m grasping for straws trying to help narrow down the problem.

Thanks everybody for keeping fuel on the fire. Hopefully the Plex ninjas can work it out.

Update: The album I posted about being missing back on Jan 28th just now became available in Plex today, Aug 2nd.

https://listen.tidal.com/album/240115737

I’ve found a few more cases of missing albums.

Interesting to note that every instance of missing content that I have found so far is Japanese. I am grasping at straws just as yortdog is, but there might be something to it.

No updates on my previous list, everything I’ve listed is still missing. Here’s hoping the increasing amount of data helps the people over at Plex hunt down the root cause!

Some new tracks from my list have shown up!

  • PinocchioP on Plex and TIDAL
    • Pinocchiop Best Album 2009-2020 Kotobuki was listed on Plex and now has 10/37 tracks, an increase of 6 tracks. The new tracks added are 1, 5, 11, 14, 15, 22. That brings the listed tracks to 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, 11, 14, 15, 16, 22.
  • DECO*27 on Plex and TIDAL
    • Conti New was listed on Plex and now has 3/12 tracks, an increase of 1 track. The new track is track 10, bringing the total listed tracks to 1, 2, 10.
    • Ghost was listed on Plex and now has 12/13 tracks, an increase of 5 tracks. The new tracks added are 4, 7, 9, 10, 12. Track 13 is the sole missing track.

After these new tracks, my TIDAL playlist of 836 missing tracks now has 27 accessible on Plex, up from 15.

On another note, Because You’re Here (feat. Miku Hatsune) appears in my playlist, but does not appear in the artist view. The Plex link to the album results in an error on plex.tv, and infinite loading on Plexamp, leading me to believe it is the same issue as the missing artist pages I’ve reported in this thread.

Hi all,

I’d also like to add my feedback about this problem, and give a list about the problematic albums that I have (sorted in four problem category):

WOW! Thanks for the thoughtful & extensive reply. That’s awesome.
Can I ask what country you’re in?

Also, for category 4, you say “nothing happens” after hitting the Add to Library button, but can you confirm these albums/tracks end up going to your “Live TV” → DVR Schedule → Recording Priority list? I tested one of the Firewater albums, and this is where it landed for me:

Weird, right?

For comparison, I’ve got 315 problematic tracks at the moment: 143 are visible in Plex, but can’t be added to the library - most go straight to the DVR schedule bucket as shown above. (your category 4). That leaves 172 that Plex can’t see, but are available in Tidal (your category 1). I’ve also encountered a handful of examples in your category 2 & 3.

(I’m also having a problem with a Moby album Early Underground, where Tidal has 15 tracks, but only 9 are importable into Plex). It’s just so random & frustrating. :frowning:

Thanks for keeping this thread alive. I am amazed that this is still an issue after having it raised two years back.

Today another example. Both new singles of Duran Duran (released today and 3-4 weeks back) do not show up in Plex/Tidal while available in Tidal:

Tidal:

Plex/Tidal:

Oddly enough the new videoclip (Danse Macabre) does showup in Plex/Tidal…

Got this email this week. I understand price increases. But, hey friends @ Plex, any chance of fixing the issue we’re having in this thread? We don’t want anyone to give up on this Tidal/Plex integration.

Respectfully & sincerely your friend,

From what I could read from the thread they recently opened for questions and answers, they are aware of the integration problems with Tidal and are working on improvements

They’re aware of the issues and it seems they are working on them and some improvements. Per some comments from Pro Week.

Glad to hear that Plex is aware of the issue! I’ve come across some more missing albums, here’s hoping the extra data can help nail down the root cause.

These new missing tracks bring my playlist of missing tracks up from 836 to 1039 tracks.
It is worth noting that every release here is under the same label, HARDCORE TANO*C.
Here’s hoping a solution to this issue is found soon!

Three new tracks from my playlist showed up today!

Glad to see that tracks are still being added, hopefully all of our tracks come through soon!

Happy thanksgiving everyone!

Major improvements seem to have been made on this issue.

Saturday Nov 18, 2023 I noticed I could add tracks into my Plex library that didn’t work before. (These formerly got moved to the Live TV → DVR Schedule → Recording Priority list.) This solved over 200 songs in my Tidal playlist that I could see in Plex, but could not add.
problem detailed above: (Tidal - new singles do not show up - #104 by yortdog)

This morning (Thurs Nov 23, 2023) I started seeing tracks in the Plex view of my Tidal playlist that were not available yesterday. That fixed another 100+ songs. YAY! Each time I check back, it seems more are available. Maybe over the long weekend I’ll be able to add the remaining 117 tracks.

Thanks to the whole Plex team for their hard work in getting this moving.
Does everyone else see improvement?
@Corey_Jeppesen : The Switchfoot Christmas album was available to me today.
@Cloud_9 : The Josienne Clark “Now & Then” shows up for me, too.

Can confirm there was a major improvement, my playlist jumped from 40 songs visible to 105 songs visible! This is a playlist of 1049 tracks, but I’m very glad to see things improving!

Of note, DECO*27’s Ghost is now completely visible on Plex!
Irregular Nation 9 is also completely visible!

Removing these albums from my playlist, I now have 1029 tracks in the playlist, with 82 visible in Plex. The remaining visible tracks are incomplete albums, so I am leaving them in the playlist until the albums are fully available.

Thank you Plex team for continuing to work at fixing this issue, hope to see it completely resolved soon!

are we having problems getting new stuff from Tidal lately? I just noticed this album by Dave Grohl Play by Dave Grohl on TIDAL and some other thing the other day, i think it was a new compilation by the band Ghost.

Yes, still having problems. I’ve still got 104 songs in Tidal that Plex can’t see. 1 album was released Nov 17 2023 (Good Morning Mercy by Jason Crabb on TIDAL) but most of my remaining problems are deeper catalog titles or scattered singles from earlier in 2023. I keep checking back everyday, though.
