Hi there, i started my server and library with 2tb and that filled up fairly quickly so i decided to add more space by filling the 2nd slot on the nas. started downloading the content as i did on the 2tb. However i couldnt find the folders with the stored content on the plex server to give it access. yes i gave it permission in the folder settings. has anyone experienced this and have you had any luck with finding a fix?
Hi there, Thank you so much for your prompt reply. i am new to all this so sorry if this sounds silly. But, how do i give system internal user plexmediaserver? Do i just make a folder called “plexmediaserver” and give the folder labeled “movies” on the HDD permission ?
thank you, i did give synology users permission. Sadly, same outcome.
let me elaborate. plex media server is installed on my first HDD (volume1). that hdd has since been filled, not i started to download movies on 2nd HDD(volume2). i have made a folder called “PLEX” and in it “Movies” . On the plex portal, when adding to library , i can see Volume2, and plex. but not movies.
You must create a Shared Folder.
You can create regular folders inside the shared folder but the Shared Folder must be at the top of Volume 2 (disk 2).
Then Control Panel → Shared Folder → highlight “PLEX” → EDIT button
This is where you give permission for “System Internal User” (not “Local User” – change that dropdown) to add “PlexMediaServer”
